FYI - I am a Ford boy, I have 2 Cobras at the moment (03 & 07 GT500) and have owned and built several other 5 liter stangs and been around them enough to know what is what, I know what they're capable of, been there, done that, a couple times.

I have the TKO-600 trans to harness all that power, and a beefed up 8.8 rear end that should take all the abuse.

This is a HOBBY for me. Some folks don't understand that part of the equation. I enjoy twisting wrenches... it keeps me balanced and satiated.

It ran a 13.1@102 4 years ago with the stock block and bolt ons. I ended up pulling and removing EVERYTHING for the current upgrades. I think my fuse box is still stock. As for how fast I am now... Lots faster. I'm sure if you ask around you'll find someone who knows some of whats under the hood.

:werd: Yeah, it's hard to find them in good shape, and if you do, they'll cost a lot more. It's not hard to fix them if you know what you're doing, but trashed interiors is the bigger problem. But that's why they make great race cars... you can get them for cheap, gut the interior, and go bounce them off of other cars, without much investment. Then when it comes time to sell, you sell it as a race car and actually get what you've got into it, or sometimes a little more (try that with a sport compact, lol).

I'd still like one in good shape for a street car, but replacing my street cars with a small SUV or pickup would be more practical...

If you knew anything about Alaska you'd know that we don't have one single Moose on Kodiak Island. We do however have about 75 Elk here that my ex father in law owns, you can come shoot one for about $5k, they're in a 26 thousand acre pen with a few bears, buffalo, cows, horses and a few yak, shouldn't take you too long to find one. I survived accidently walking up on a bear - 10 feet away from me. I was armed with a .22 Magnum rifle... I dropped the wild stupid chickens I was carrying... and slowly walked backwards. He was content to get his free meal that he left me alone.

He was a young bear... his paw print was the size of a large paper plate with the claws fitting over the edge of the plate.

I did three tours in Alaska... I would love to go back. Fairbanks and Anchorage both have a race track... when I was up there Anchorage had two tracks open. They have some nice toys in Alaska. Of course it costs an arm and a leg to get them up there... and parts have to be shipped in so you pay more $$$ out to keep your ride going.
