Damn, that is a full done race car. Fire suppression system for cockpit and engine compartment. Sure that cost a pretty penny
Yeah, but you know.. being so high on that horse, the air has to be pretty thin. So, I don't think much when they start comparing apples to oranges.

yeah, they typically sell for 9-12 grand, i just posted that one for dramatic effect
but either way, M@s arguements suck and hold no ground.
plus, IM better looking than him, since thats the best comeback he can come up with against weston
i dont give a shit what you guys say about weston, hes a good friend and a good person and racing these cars has been by far the most fun ive EVER had in any car
/any disagreement

Weston CAN be a good person until he gets his typical high and mighty > everyone else attitude that we've all grown so used to.
And I disagree about the better looking thing. You look like Tom Cruises' ugly son. Just kidding.. kind of.

Unless that guy paid someone to build the car for him, he made good money on that sale. Fire systems typically cost around $500, but start as low as $250. The same car can be built for much cheaper, but when we're dealing with a log-booked race car, and also a Porsche, some mark-up in the price to cover labor and development efforts is something that buyers are willing to pay for. That's how he listed it for $15k and had it sold within 3 weeks, compared to the typical street ricer story where someone tries to sell a modified Honda for what they've got into it and it never sells, so the owner resorts to insurance fraud in order to get any real money out of it.

Actually, I had plenty of offers on both of my cars. And I didn't get any money out of my car old car, FYI. They paid off the loan. Imagine that, Weston thinks he knows what he's talking about, YET AGAIN. lol. No real surprise there.

weve never said they were fast, or the best.... just that we race them and theyre great cars for the money
What!? I thought the only point of having a car was so it could go faster than all your friends cars in a straight line. It's like I don't even know who I am anymore...
Oh wow!!! And I forgot that building a drag car meant you have to race it on the street!!!

Insurance fraud? Do tell :)
Once again, Sir Westonian think's he knows everything. Weston thinks I commited insurance fraud with my old car for some reason, which I didn't. He swears up and down I did, but he can't prove anything because nothin' happened. Joke's on him for trying to accuse me of something that never happened.

Weston CAN be a good person until he gets his typical high and mighty > everyone else attitude that we've all grown so used to.
I just don't do well with people who have the street ricer fucktard mentality, people who lie / BS, or people won't take responsibility for their own mistakes or wrong-doings. We've all made our share of mistakes when we were younger, but that's not an excuse to continue being an idiot. But even then, I leave most idiots alone... it's just the deeply insecure ones that shove it in everyone's faces by bragging or gloating, and the ones that lash out because they feel threatened by my views.
And I disagree about the better looking thing. You look like Tom Cruises' ugly son. Just kidding.. kind of.
The funny thing here is that he has all kinds of females throwing themselves at him, and he doesn't give them the time of day, nor does he brag or gloat about it. It's like he's... you know... an adult who's secure about himself. Meanwhile, other people here have shown us that they'll do pathetic/desperate things to try to get with a girl, brag about any minor accomplishments until the end of time, and get offended that I'm not at all impressed.

Weston - Let me ask you this, what is it you want from me? You seem to have this need to constantly talk shit to me, or try to fire me up. Maybe because you know I'm known for getting upset easily. So, what is it? Are you sexually frustrated? Do you have some sort of jealousy towards me? Do you hate me because I drag race? Is it because I own a Honda? What in the fuck is the deal? Seriously.... if you feel like PM'ing it to me, feel free. Hell, say it here if you want. I'd just like to know what in the hell your problem is.
This constant shit talking (that proves nothing from either of you, and in fact punches holes in any argument both of you come up with) makes me want to light an M-100 in my mouth on an after school playground.

You're pretty quick to get super defensive on that... All I said was that it was pretty common, and we've had several other people on HAI do stuff like that. You seem a little paranoid...
Oh wow!!! And I forgot that building a drag car meant you have to race it on the street!!!
Well, street ricing is 95% of what you talk about and call people out to. A real drag racer would do it at the track, so that makes you a street ricing poser.
Once again, Sir Westonian think's he knows everything. Weston thinks I commited insurance fraud with my old car for some reason, which I didn't. He swears up and down I did, but he can't prove anything because nothin' happened. Joke's on him for trying to accuse me of something that never happened.
Ok, now you're just asking for ownage. We both know how much you shit yourself the last time this came up. I don't know everything. All I know is what happened, what you told us at the time, and what you blatantly lied about later... You crashed your car, the insurance adjuster looked at it and totalled it, then you yanked out the motor and replaced it with a blown D-series before they came to haul it away. The justification you gave us for this was that they didn't insure your LS/VTEC motor and turbo setup, which seems like a legitimate argument, but what no one ever understood was why they would accept a blown D-series in a '99 Civic Si, which is supposed to have a working B16.
We all knew it was fishy, but it wasn't anything solid. It was apparently enough to inspire someone to create a thread pretending to be the guy who bought the car at auction, and was asking questions about the motor swap. Not being sure if it was a joke or not, I gave an honest answer about what you did and had said about it (which everyone in chat saw for themselves at the time that you said it), without even adding my opinion on the matter, and you then blatantly lied and said that it never happened. It was also very apparent that you were extremely disturbed by the existance of that thread. I was told that you said something along the lines of "stop it. you're fucking with my life!" to people that you suspected of having created that thread. So, what was just a suspicion then became a hell of a lot more obvious. If everything was legit, then why make such a bold lie, or get so frantic about it? The thread was deleted by a mod, but at least one other thread was created that night... this new one simply showed your posts where you were seeking to buy a blown D-series right after you wrecked the car, but before insurance took it. Now the really incriminating thing about this one was your response to it... you promptly started editing and deleting those posts to cover up the evidence. This thread was also deleted by a mod, so who knows how much other info was on the forum but got deleted before we all saw it...
Your own actions and blatant lying shows that things weren't anywhere near as legitimate as you had claimed they were.

All I want from you is for you to mind your own business and STFU, which is what 99% of HAI wants. In the past, you had agreed to not talk to me if I didn't talk to you, but the very first time you had an opportunity to needlessly take a cheap shot at me, you took it. I think that lasted all of maybe a week. I had noticed that the smallest things could set you off into a hateful temper tantrum, but then I learned that you actually don't need anything at all to cause that. I'm sorry that you're screwed up in the head, but that doesn't mean that I, or anyone else, has to put up with your shit. If you really honestly want the drama to stop, then start minding your own business, and keeping your gloating and negative comments to yourself, then you can watch as most everyone else shows you the same respect. I would think that by now, even you could remember that I'm certainly not the only one here who has had this problem with you.

I survived accidently walking up on a bear - 10 feet away from me. I was armed with a .22 Magnum rifle... I dropped the wild stupid chickens I was carrying... and slowly walked backwards. He was content to get his free meal that he left me alone.
He was a young bear... his paw print was the size of a large paper plate with the claws fitting over the edge of the plate.
I did three tours in Alaska... I would love to go back. Fairbanks and Anchorage both have a race track... when I was up there Anchorage had two tracks open. They have some nice toys in Alaska. Of course it costs an arm and a leg to get them up there... and parts have to be shipped in so you pay more $$$ out to keep your ride going.
M@ you are avoiding my bike. You know you can't beat me in a 10 foot race.
I'll have the GN ready soon enough. What you may remember of it is a far fetch from what it has on it now. It has a brand new set of Nitto Drag Radials so traction won't be an issue any more... Wanna bet it pops off a mid 12 first time out?I've sat 20ft from one and fed it fish for 2 hrs straight, I didn't WANT to do that but he had me kinda trapped, I just kept catching fish and feeding him til he got full and then he walked away.
There is only one drag track in AK.
AK doesn't want you back, stay where you are.
Yeah there are some reallly nice toys here, people gotta spend money on somethign and build shit during the winter when it's too cold to do anything, alot of interesting stuff gets built up here.
You won't run a 12, at all.

Oh, and also.. I suppose I can try again. If you don't say anything to me, I'll return the same respect. I'll try again, at least.

I'm quoting that so you can't edit it away later. You, I, and most of the HAI regulars know what you did, so I don't know who you're trying to fool. If you didn't tell such bold lies, we wouldn't have thought much of it, but replies like that only serve to show us all that we're right about what you did, and that you're a piece of shit. You may not have pulled a full "Titus", but what you did was wrong, and we all know it. At least Titus was somewhat smart about it, and not dumb enough to expose the crime by so boldly lying and talking shit to the people who knew the truth. I even heard that he learned his lesson from it.

The way you're acting reminds me of b16SEDAN.
If you would have just kept your mouth shut and not thrown a temper tantrum over nothing, it wouldn't have to come to this. But once again, you've called me a liar for simply repeating some statements that you made in the past, which tells us that you really did do something wrong, and it makes me feel compelled to set the record straight. You brought this on yourself. It just so happens that I saved the screen shots that were posted one of the threads that got deleted... I figured it might be useful, since you were calling me a liar back then too.
You wrecked your car on the morning of February 6, 2007...
http://i18.tinypic.com/2cy2nba.jpg
You came into chat and announced that you were looking for an engine hoist, a blown motor, and some help to swap it before insurance took it away. It's unfortunate that the chat room doesn't keep logs, but several of us saw that, and your posts on the forum tell a good story too...
That afternoon, you announced that you were looking for a blown B/D series motor and transmission to put in it. I noticed that you have since editted that post, and others, to try to cover up the evidence, but the screen shot still owns you...
http://www.turbols.net/HAI/Matt-BlownMotor.jpg
Then in the thread about you wrecking your car, your buddy even posted this...
http://www.turbols.net/HAI/Matt-BlownMotor2.jpg
Stu, an insurance adjuster, gave this advice...
If you have the car at your house, and have the means to return it to stock, without causing further damage or depreciation (I don't see why it would) then you should probably do so.
Note that he said "return it to stock, without causing further damage or depreciation". I really don't think that half-assing a blown D-series into a car that's supposed to have a good B16 qualifies.
Over the next couple of days in chat, you told us that Martian helped you swap the motors and then insurance hauled it away. Again, I wasn't the only one in chat who read this.
And here you are trying to sell that motor that you pulled, just a few weeks later... You managed to edit your post before the screen shot was taken, but the thread title and date are incriminating enough. Besides, the moderators can still pull up that thread and see what you originally wrote.
http://www.turbols.net/HAI/Matt-SellMotor.jpg
Here's another thread where you're trying to sell the transmission...
http://www.turbols.net/HAI/Matt-SellTrans.jpg
I also find this thread on CRN to be quite interesting... http://forums.coloradoracing.net/index.php?showtopic=105392&hl=
Don't bother trying to edit it and remove the evidence... I already took screen-shots of it.
So, it's probably in your best interest to just shut up now, rather than to continue trying to call me a liar for stating the facts, since that would only encourage me to look into this deeper and expose more...

He owed them a good B16 drivetrain, but instead he gave them basically nothing, and he did it behind their back. So, yes, there's something wrong with that, and it's insurance fraud. However, most of us, including myself, don't really care too much about it. It was only when he decided to try to cover up the crime by so boldly laying about it and also calling me a liar, that I found myself motivated to set the record straight. I didn't even say anything about his insurance fraud until he got all offended by a general statement I made about how common it is in the sport compact "scene".

Removing aftermarket parts that weren't covered and returning it to stock is fair, and common sense... however, giving them a car without an engine is another story. His own actions, attitude, and lies about the matter show us that he knows he did something wrong.

Of course you can, "Call up his insurance comnpany and report it."
They won't do anything at this point in the game IMO.
He paid for his insurance like we all do... He probably owned the car outright and when it became wrecked the insurance company wanted to own it before it made it's pay off for a totalled "worthless Honda." In his line of thinking... he was getting ripped off by the insurance company who wished to take his car that he owned... just so he could get a check for a fraction of the value he believed that was in it.
If I was to wreck my '92 LX Mustang I would never get any compensation for the 432 Windsor stuck between the frame rails... and the junk yard which received the Mustang would probably yank that hopped up motor and TKO-600 transmission out of the frame rails behind my back while it sat in their dismantling yard at $30 a day. They too are into the game of bait and switch.
At this point in time... unless you have saved the incriminating evidence (as most of it has been deleted) there won't be anything to substantiate your claim. So... he got away with it.
I see both of your positions... one of you is a straight up ethics motivated individual with no gray area. The other has alot of gray area on the matter of ethics when it comes to insurance companies who only provide their service to steal from us legally. On the matter of his lying to the viewing/reading crowd... I assume that is something for the board moderators to consider... and if they are buddies/kroo they might have been there twisting wrenches on that midnight hours swap. :)
Now back to "Me" as this is my post. I have a very fast Green Pea Shooter bike that wants to put down this guy who swaps motors in the middle of the night so AllState can't take more from him.

He put in a D-series. They inspected it again at the time they picked it up so if they really cared about it they would have done something. The engine he had in there wasn't the OEM b16 anyway. Insurance picked up the car with a engine and tranny in running condition. That is not fraud.
