07 Yamaha R1 glitch

I thought it was just something a little funky with the bike being brand new, but turns out that it's a common thing. There's some kind of glitch in the ECU where if the bike is in 2nd gear right around 5500rpm and you goose the throttle, the engine will take up to as many as 4 seconds before it responds to you and starts accelerating. Sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesn't... which is actually pretty fucking irritating... particularly since I spend most of my in-town riding in 2nd or 3rd gear.

If enough people bitch about it, I'm sure they'll do something. My bike has a 3 year warranty on it, so I'm hoping before that's up. LoL.

I'm not particularly happy about it either. Worst time it's happened to me is when I was merging onto 6th Avenue east from I-25 south. Coming around that onramp doing about 55, I started to stand the bike back up and I opened the throttle... to find nothing happened. The merge lane on that part of 6th is extremely short, and I almost had a close call with a car whose driver was NOT paying attention.
