Are you seriously seeing 20psi out of that little teeny tiny K03? If so, is it a spike to 20psi? What's the 'average' boost you see from the thing with your chipped ECUs?

And what fuel are you running when you boost that much on that K03?

Thanks.

john, i'll post up a video of my gauge later today so you can see the boost level through a couple of gears. It really does see 20 psi in the mid range. I almost only run 91 octane gas at that boost level even with my 93 octane program.

ACK! 91 octane at 20psi on that heat pump! Do you have vwtool or vag-com to watch timing? I'd bet real $ that you are knocking like mad...

Well thats why they have the different ocatane programs with APR. The 91 octane program is set to run this much boost on 91 octane with no knock. Now to do this they have to be conservative with timing. I'm running the 93 program most of the time which is the same boost as the 91 just more timing. Then there are a few on here that have the race program too which is said to have 20 hp over the 91 program. It also runs the same boost, just more timing.

no boost gauge here....yet. but most people seem to spike around 20 and then it tapers off to 14 or so. Even when i switch to the race program the car feels very smooth and strong. I havent heard of anyone having knocking problems as long as they run the right gas with the program

Do any of you guys have a datalogger of any sort, vag-com or vwtool? Would you be interested in an OBD-2 logger which would run on either a laptop or a palmOS device?

:D

I've borrowed a vag-com unit for my trip to Texas next week to retrieve the A4.

No, but a vag-com is high on my list of short term purchases.

I would be interested to see what the car is doing. i have been going out of my way to get 93 octane gas at the only store in Colorado Springs that I now sells it. I do it just to be safe......I wouldn't doubt that the car is doing some knocking with only 91

They defintaly need more stations with 93 out here! Good thing I work by that one station if I get time I fill up there.

yep, same here. do you get dealer pricing on vag-coms? maybe we can start a group buy or something in the next couple weeks

obdtool.com sells the connector for like $70, and their CD comes with the 'shareware' version of vag-com.

I'll see what I can do for a group buy type deal.
