Where would I go to get red 1157 bulbs around Northern Colorado? I've gone to WalMart, AutoZone, Checker, Advance, Napa, Target, KMart, TA, Sapp Brothers, etc. and the only colors they have for 1157 bulbs is clear and amber. I don't want the fucking LED 1157's because I'm not going to pay $7 for a fucking bulb and I don't want to get rear ended either. The "red" gel caps they sell in the rice section of AutoZone or such stores is crap (what do you expect from the APC section) and just makes the light look hot pink, which is not a color that's going to be coming from my car. So, does anyone know where I can find red 1157 bulbs? They used to sell them at AutoZone, but now they're trying to force those god aweful LED bulbs down my throat instead.

Or, does anyone know of a red paint, and where to get it, that's not too thick (gotta let light through) and wouldn't burn or flake off of the bulbs?

I know AutoDynamic.com has red 1157's, but I would like to find something local so I can have them right away.

lol. I'll probably check the new one in Longmont today or tomorrow. I would think a simple red bulb would be easier to find than this. All I can find is those hot pink caps and the APC garbage LED's. :(

i thought the the general rule of thumb(not sure about here in CO) for the blinker bulbs was that they couldn't be red or blue. But you could have any other color, ie clear, amber, green...

but this is just what i thought.

You can have amber, white, or anything in between for the front turn signals. And the rear turn signals have to be red or amber. I'm looking for bulbs for the brake lights and they need to be red since I have clear lenses.

I've only had the clears on for two days and I'm not too thrilled with them, so I think I'm going to continue with my plan to make them red. But until I get around to doing that, I need to have legal brake lights (the bright filament in the right bulb is burnt out). I'm tempted to just paint a regular bulb red and hope it doesn't burn off before I do the lenses.

Yeah, is Trenz closed? I knew that they moved, but I went there to get my springs put in after they moved.

No Trenz didnt close down. They just moved to the East side of Evans and closer to I-25. That's the only place i can think of that would actually have those bulbs. Either that or Import Sports that is right down the street right off of Iliff. Evans turns into Iliff and Import Sports is in the old Asylum shop. And yes you can have either amber or red in the back for the blinker but no hyper white, and as for the front the cops dont like red in the front, but they dont really care about hyper white turn signals in the front.
