View Full Version : how do i fix this problem??

when i plug my amp in i have all the wires hooked up right and everything but my amp keeps blowing fuses.. so i hooked it up to 3 different peoples wires and it blew their fuses as well.. does anyone know how to fix this problem.. btw the amp light comes on so there is power to the amp.. its a rockford fosgate 500a2 amp.. thanks

make sure the speakers are hooked up right, & the impeadence isnt too low for the amp

if the ground wire and the positive wire are anywhat touching then it will blow the fuse. Also make sure the positive wire isnt cut or opened up anywhere along the body of the car where it could be touching metal.

Echo what's said above. Go thru all of the wiring, one piece at a time...

Did you trace the wiring? THe only reason for fuses to blow is a bad power setup.

unless there is some internal problem with the amp. I know all about fried amps lately... :(

how can you check to make sure there isnt a internal problem with your amp?

A drill, a hammer, and a crow bar. Maybe some toilet paper and a band aid too.
