Alright so I noticed my car is getting very hot when I drive it around, not just a little hot, alot hot, then it's leeking a little coolint also, I pop the hood and noticed that it was sptting the coolent up next to my passanger side light. I look at all the hosess and notice none of them are damaged, I don't know what is doing this. Someone told me a thermostat? But if so, then how come it is leeking? LMK what you guys think is the prob thanks.

How many miles are on it? You ever done the water pump? You could try taking your belt off and see if you can spin the water/pump by hand...

It's leaking by your passenger side headlight? Check for cracks/damage on your overflow reservoir.

Alright, I dont know about the pump, but, I figured it was not the pump because, it's on the right side of my motor, unless it's spitting up. The car has like 164k on it, but, has had new belts put on...

I don't know, ill have to check that, any other idea..

Would cracks on my overflow make my car over heat, I noticed the overflow has alot of coolent in it..

Find out where the leak is coming from. Then work from there.

Well, that stock reservoir is actually a recovery reservoir, so all that coolant is being cycled through the engine.

Damn I hate this bullshit lol, I cant find the leek, I have spent hours looking, I get under the car feel all the hosess and look all around.. But cant find anything, this is wired..

Look mo' harduh. Light the hell out of the engine bay and figure out where it's coming from.. that kind of goes without saying though.

Check the waterpump.

Why do you guys keep saying to check the water pump if he says he's leaking near his passenger side headlight? lol.

oh LOL wasn't even paying attention if its on the pass head light its either the radiator or a hose maybe the overflow but I doubt the overflow would over heat your car that bad.

If it keeps losing coolant due to a crack in it, and is running low on coolant, it sure as hell will cause it to overheat.

By the way, have you even checked your coolant yet?

I found out what was wrong, it was the thermostat, I figured I had nothing to lose, after looking all over for a leek and finding nothing. That was the prob, everything is wroking good now thanks everyone.

Don't you care where to coolant was coming from? I find it hard to believe that a you had coolant in you engine bay, but replaced the t'stat and now it's ok. Was it low on coolant? If it was low on coolant, simply toping off the system after the t'stat was installed will temporarily cure your problem. If there really was coolant by your pass headlight, something tells me you're not out of the woods yet. If it does persist again later, find someone with a pressure tester and pressurize your system.

The thermostat was sticking closed, therefore stoping(slowing down) the flow of coolant through the block. The water pump has to push the excess pressure somewhere..So it goes to the overflow tank...Hence the leak,
I've seen it quite a few times..

Yeah this is what was going on, I put coolant in it when I noticed it leeked the first time. That is why I knew it was not low, then I looked all around for a leek. I could not find anything, so I took the next step, and it fixed it and it's all good now...
