What do you need it for? Different uses have different requirements.
Chances are that you'll need something Snell rated... an 'M' rating is for motorcycles, but it's sufficient for most car uses too (1/4 mile, autocross, HPDE, time trials). 'SA' is special application (fireproof, safer, etc), which is more expensive and is normally only required for wheel-to-wheel road racing.

Bandimere will rent them to you if you need it. Or you can buy a cheapo open face for $100 at any motorcycle/atv dealer.

Double check with the requirements for the class you'll be running in (i.e. testNtunes, brackets, or what ever) and see if you need an "M" or "SA". Any motorcycle shop will have "M" rated helmets, and you get to try them on. This is very important because if your helment doesn't fit properly it's worthless.
