Does anyone have any experience with Tablets? How are they for daily use?

I bought a convertible (Gateway CX200X) because a pure tablet would get annoying imo. For taking notes and quickly sending little things here and there it's a godsend, unless your handwriting blows and the system can't convert to text for ya.
If you go with a tablet/convertible, load vista onto it. XP Tablet edition is nice, but things have been a LOT more streamlined in vista, and for my tablet, anyway, it's a ton more accurate.

We sold a few different models at PC Club..wasnt real impressed with ANY of them. Lots of issues with the connectors on the convertable ones, the screens just suck in general because of the capture stuff built in to them. I really would "like" the idea..but I dont really think its a mainstream thing yet. I always felt I'd just break them..and I'm pretty careful with computer stuff. :p

The only good thing I've ever seen come from using a tablet is for someone who attends a ton of meetings and needs to keep their notes electronically. The company I used to work for had a ton of Compaq tablets, and a few Gateway convertibles... and needless to say I wasn't particularly impressed with either of them.

Yep, the screen kind of blows, picked mine up for $999, Solely for school purposes. I'm a fucking idiot and tend to lose papers the second i take my pen off of them, so it makes it a bit easier to keep everything organized, and backed up.
