Alright, so for some reason, my computer wont let me watch youtube, or really anything with flash. It always says that I need the update of flash, or my javascript is turned off. Well, so I went and downloaded the new flash, and still nothing. Checked my javascript, all that junk is on. But yet it still does it. I've had a few friends try to figure out what crack my computer is smoking, but they can't seem to fix it either.. Any suggestions?

Try a different kind of crack or maybe some LSD or some shrooms or something.

The crack through the usb, the shrooms through the dvd drive. Duh.

As far as the problam goes, how long has it been since this happened? Any changes (hardware or software) to the machine? Also, do you have Aol? I have seen the Aol security package (what a load of shit) mess things up, or other software updates.

Well its been doing this for about 3 months now, I just didnt really care, but now its starting to effect more things that I usually do, and now I can't. And since this has happened, the computer shuts down on its own sometimes, or is extremely slow. No, I don't have the program aol, I just have AIM. Thats all.

Try a system restore from a few months (if you still have restore points from that long ago) earlier when it wasn't doing it?

We tried that, and it was still doing what its doing now. I think we restored it to 5 months ago or something like that.

I have the same problem with my one of my work computers when using IE. It started after I updated flash. I checked out all of the security settings and made sure JavaScript is enabled, but no luck. I probably should have tried reinstalling flash, but I just use Firefox instead and it's fine.

Alright, yeah we were talking about using firefox instead, because your IE 7 has been acting up lately. So I guess we'll see. Thanks though...

Just went through something similar.... back everything you need or want up... sounds like your hard drive is getting close to crashing. Have you had the blue screen of death yet? When mine went it was slowly locking me out of programs and runing slower and slower. It would lock up so I had to switch off and reboot. and finnaly started making the screen go blue. Ended up having to get a new motherboard, processor, power supply and hard drive and I lost alot of data. Hopefully thats not what you have going on but be prepared.

Well, I haven't gotten that blue screen, it doesnt really lock up, just shuts its self down whenever it pleases. And it hasnt been too slow lately, but at times it gets pretty damn slow.

I would follow through with this:

http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14157

And then update the browsers to make sure they are the latest versions - ensure Flash it is removed by visiting a website that has Flash content. Then reinstall under Administrator privileges for all users on the machine.
