I used AnyDVD combined with CloneDVD to copy DVD movies. I use Nero to compile data DVD's (such as data backups, etc.)

Seth and Stiffler pointed me to DVDFab, which so far, has burned everything w/o any issues.

Nero is incredible for everything. It has a super easy interface for simple stuff and then you get into the nitty gritty details for advance burning too.
I didnt have it on my newer desktop for a few months and when I got it again, I realized how much of a pain in the ass it was to burn without it.
I use dvd fab decrypter to extract the data, dvdshrink to re-author, and imgburn to write to media.
All freeware.
