To cut or not to cut...

So I'm thinking about comp cutting my jeep soon. I have some 33's that need to be put on but I don't know if the rears will fit at the moment. The obvious answer is to use my buddy's plasma cutter and do a comp cut on it a little early and run the 33's. For those that don't know, here is a comp cut.

Once I get my lift, the comp cut is not really functional for me until I stretch the wheelbase which will be next summer. So...should I just cut the bitch up and say screw functionallity for now? Or just wait until I truely need the comp cut.

CUT IT.... Me and B saw the pimpest YJs this weekend and they were cut. There is no reason not to cut it, unless the appearance is a big issue to you.

Jeff, so far I am. I still gotta smooth one side but It's getting worked on right now. My pinion was moving back and gouging the carrier in the rear diff. I'm having someone else do the work bc I'm too busy right now so the jeep is at his place. But for the one day I had the 33's on there with the cut, it looked sweet! I should have it back in the next few days and I can take some better pics.

Nice. You'll be hating not having any fender flares the next time you go wheeling in the mud and water... :D Prepare to be dirty/wet. Before I put the flares on the rear wells, they flung all kinds of muds back at me through the windows.

And that cut will still be useful after you lift it. The more clearance you have for articulation the better.

Do you get nailed by flying nodules of moist dirt coming in your windows? That sucked... I was glad when I put the rear flares on for sure.

I had that before because my driver side never had a flare. It definitely sucks! lol
