The diverter valve is a blow off valve, correct?

Do you guys know at what vacuum they start to open at? Are the aftermarket parts (forge?) adjustable?

How bad is the stock part? It appears to be made of plastic, no? How badly does it leak, and at what pressure does it begin leaking?

Thanks.

It's pretty much like a BOV only it recirculates the air instead of venting to atmosphere. I don't know what vacuum level begins to crack them although it would be easy enough to test my old one. The stock ones are plastic with rubber internals. The problem is that at higher boost levels the rubber seal tears and leaks. Mine only lasted a couple weeks with my chip which is running about 20 psi. I checked the part number and I have the updated audi tt 225 hp version of the DV so the older ones will be even worse. As for aftermarket, forge and hyperboost are about the same. Metal piston, fully serviceable ect. They are not adjustable though. Only the GFB Hybrid valve is. It vents excess pressure to atmosphere and is adjustable via a set screw. nolimitsoldier on this board has one so he could answer that better. boraturbo is running an HKS super sequential BOV on his, but those set you back 2-300 dollars and are said to have check engine light issues. Not sure if his is throwing a code though since his check engine light is always on.....

So a good quality aftermarket BOV would do the trick then, no?

Brian - if you would, put a vacuum pump on your old valve and see where it starts to open, please?

Thanks. :)

i have a spare old one if you wish to sacrafice it to the test gods. You add any boost above 11psi and that thing starts floating. The forge valve is adjustable with different spring. I currently have a forge 006.

I have a GFB Hybrid DV that I love. It puts enough back into the MAF to keep it happy, and vents the excess boost. I'm very happy with the way it holds, and it's adjustable too. it's factory tested up to 110psi
