So I just got back from the largest multiplayer game event in the US...totally cool stuff this year. We got to see the Doom 3 theatre, great new hardware demonstrations from the hardware sponsors this year (VIA, AMD, ATi).
Let me just tell ya...if you are going to be in the market for a 'performance' video card anytime soon you need to suck it up and spend the money for the Raedon 9700pro..that card 'decimates all' ($399 however...)
Aside from that...I can truthfully say that Doom 3 is the most amazing thing to ever happen to computers. Its so realistic that it is damn scary..they got Trent Reznor from NiN to do all the audio/music again, and the game is the most scary, freaky, cool, thing EVER.
Anyway...great turnout this year...about 20 of us from Colorado so that was pretty cool. Here is a picture from the corner of the main BYOC area.

The main website is http://www.quakecon.org if anyone is interested in more pictures...or trying to figure out what qcon 2002 was all about. (hint..its sleep deprivation, caffine, and computer games)
