View Full Version : Klode Questions
Does anyone here know how the auctions work at Klode? How much do stripped shells usually go for? Anyone have any friends that work there? Thanks in advance.
Prices are totally dependant on the specific car and who is there to bid, lots of people say that Hondas at Klode are overpriced, just like non-working Hondas everywhere else.
Without knowing what shell you are talking about it is hard to say.
You can go in without being a dealer but you have to regsiter for the year and have a cash deposit of like 2k. The rules are on their website.

Yeah, iirc... you need to pay the annual membership fee ($150 for the first year), then put down a cash deposit of $1k for every $3k that you're allowed to bid on. The price of the cars varies a lot... it really comes down to who else is there and still has money to bid on stuff.
I've got friends that work AT Klodes, but not FOR Klodes.

The minimum cash deposit was upped to $2000 last time I was there.
And I've seen integra & civic shells sell for more than I would have paid for the same car with a running engine.
If you're good with body work, buy a crashed car and fix it. Or part it out. I've purchased 4 or 5 cars there over the years, and one I fixed and let my GF drive for 2 years. One I took some parts off of and blew up the engine hot rodding on my parents land, then sold the car. The other two I bought for parts and sold the rest, making $$ both times.
In fact, my racecar's engine came from an SRT4 I bought at Klode's.
