this is the final product of my 50 dollar paint job.
i would it to recommend anyone that has severely faded paint, primer, multi color cars, etc
granted the paint isnt perfect i think it came out pretty well, plus 2 tone is teh sex and is how s13s should have come from the factory
oh yeah, you can see my new wheel offset in these pics too

I think it looks good, Chris. Good job. You should make a write-up with tips/pointers/etc. I'd like to do this to my beater. How much did you spend on sandpaper? How much time sanding? How much time total would you say you put into this?

Car looks good Chris. Too bad I didn't know you wanted to sell it earlier. I would've loved to have had a boosted 240.

Umm... WTF are you talking about? It looks better than Maaco and certain factory paint jobs, and at 1/10th of the price.

Maaco paint looks far better, but for $50, you can't complain. :)

Not really. I've had a car with Maaco paint, and I've seen Chris' car in person. They're pretty comparable... gloss is about the same, Maaco is smoother (largely due to crap getting in Chris' paint when he was painting it), and Chris' has far less orange peel. Not to mention that Chris actually prepped his car decently, unlike Maaco.

I've had a car with a Maaco paint job, and if I didn't tell you, you would have thought I spent at least $1000 on it. My car had very little orange peel, and I had it painted for 2 years. I spent $425 after taxes on it.

:werd: I've seen some pretty decent maaco jobs. It really depends on which one you go to. My dad got his truck painted 7 years ago by the one on Santa Fe and c-470 and it still looks decent.

That's the only Maaco I would ever go to. :)

my maaco job was pretty good, but I like how chris's came out too.
