Kids killed homeless guy

Anyone hear about this? Some kids got drunk and high and killed a homeless guy. Naturally, there was a comment made comparing it to playing a video game, so it was on the media.

Penny arcade had a post about it (http://www.penny-arcade.com/2007/02/19 scroll down to the "here we go again" post) yesterday. They (as usual) made some very strong points. However, the media is full of assholes and won't say any of that.

Then, the most interesting part, today the stepmother of one of the kids involved emailed the guys from PA and told them what the kid was like in real life. It just goes to show how fucked up the media is when it comes to stories like this. You should read this (and digg it if you have an account).

Well, even though the "letter" was quite nice, I'm not sure I totally believe any of it. If you really see that a kid is in trouble THAT much, there are all kinds of other intervention programs out there. Besides..that lady says she is 29? Helping raise the 12yr old? Sounds like there may have been some other issues in the family to begin with.

That whole deal pissed me off yesterday..its scary that there are people out there like that however. :(

I dont think there is an excuse or anything of any nature that can make this somewhat ok or even excusable. I cant see a joke going this far or any type of media or drug use that can make someone go this far. I mean smeared shit on his face and cut him to see if he was alive WTF?!?!?

i believe in the death sentence in lots of cases but my cousin hit a guy that ran across the street and killed him...like that was pure accident...not like my cousin gunned it for him and was like die mofo. i guess thats why people should look both ways when crossing the road
