sounds pretty good as long as the car is ok, what are you doing with the civic?

It depends - is the motor mechanically sound? Has it been modded? Do a warm compression check on it before handing over any $$...

In May they went to the 7 bolt motors but they didn't commonly incur CW till the 2nd gen models, especially when a heavy clutch was used like a 2600 or so.
CW can occur on the 1st gen but it is pretty rare.

I've only heard of a handful of 1g 7bolts experiencing crank walk. One of them I know personally, but I think it was an issue with the rebuild he did vs faulty/out of tolerance parts.

Thanks for the info.

More and more of the '93 and '94 seven-bolt blocks are being found with crankus walkus.
The difference is that they will run alot longer with the crank freeplay out of spec, due to where the CAS is located the crank can't chew on it.

Got 6-bolt? Keep your eyes peeled for a cheap, spare 6-bolt turbo block to use later, JIC.

Hey, what years are the 1,2, & 3 generations, and how much should I expect to pay for a decent used one?

thimages

1g - 90/94
2g - 95/99
3g - 2k & later

Show up at a DSM event in a 3g and you'll get laughed it.

1g's, expect to pay around 4k for a AWD Turbo
2g's, expect to pay $7k and up for an AWD Turbo

Prices depend a LOT on model year and condition.

Except in very rare cases, a "modded" car is worth LESS because the mods indicate a higher level of abuse.

my roommate is selling his 92 eagle talon tsi. turbo, red, fwd. Just rebuild the engine(last winter) and got a new turbo(this summer) Engine has less than 10k miles on it.

He was sick of having problems with it and wasn't too interested in modding it. So he bought a '95 del sol.
