Buying Parts?

Ok so when you buy used parts from people do you ask for a receipt?

I usually use paypal for most of my purchases, are the confirmation from paypal considered receipts?

Mostly asking for insurance purpose.

I'm getting ready to spend $900 on seats and my insurance company wont insure them if I don't provide a receipt to them.

For used parts, I would assume that a bill of sale would work as well.

I used to get a bill written and signed then copied for the other guys records, but never had a bale out where it came in handy, Maybe if i were to buy a swap or something over a grand. Just a good way to cover your own ass if any thing comes up later
