tow away question?

just bought a new (to me) DD and it was sold as is tow away. the dealer gave me paper work to go and get a title and registration and all that fun stuff. my question is, am i going to have to fight DMV for the title and reg or is it pretty straight forward, i.e. go and get it in my name, get temps, get emissions and then get the tags?

If they gave you the paperwork you need then you should be fine. Normally they don't give you a temp on a towaway though, you have to e-test it first.

It's weird for a dealer to sell as a towaway if it were able to pass emissions though.

yeah, its a "tranny problem", the rest of the car is good, runs great. the tranny isn't even that bad though.

If you buy a "towaway" from a dealer,it's pretty much everything like buying a lot car with the exception of
1.no emissions guarantee
2.needs repair of some sort
3.no temp registration for transport.
pretty much an "as is-where is" sale
I've bought many vehicles this way.You save a lot of money if you know how to fix the car.

hey i got one of those that just needs a title and registration, i have the keys and runs like a champ and has snow tires. the speedometer doesnt work and the gas gauge jumps around, anybody want it throw out any price and its most likely yours!! its just taking up space. its a 1991 dodge caravan with shit loads of room cause the all the seats come out, good for transport or snowboard van.
