Does anyone know if there is any company that makes a 6-speed for a B-series motor. If not what type of trans do you recommend for an all-motor drag car?

How fast r you planning to run??? Stock B-series can handle more than you think!!! unless your trap speed pass 140mph.

If you want a 6 spd, get a K series.

Well, im building a B20/VTEC that is bored .60 over, 12.1:1 comp pistons, ported head w/ OS intake valves in a stripped CRX. i was thinking maybe somewhere in the 14's? Im not sure tho with this altitude! Im just trying to get tranny ideas

Yes it is on stock sleeves. I was just curious if there was anything out there! Now what 5-speed should you use???

All-motor, go with a B16. Turbo'd, I'd suggest GSR. B16 has shorter gears which will definately help you with an N/A setup.

Out of curiousity.....why'd you build an n/a motor? Why not just a stout turbo motor?

That is a question I have been asked alot! Well I bought the B20 thinking that displacement was gonna be key for boost, well, then I was told that it was better to boost an LS, so I ran upon some 12:1 JE pistons for super cheap and decided to go all motor on this one. But now I figure that I am almost done with HS, and once I am done with my airframe and powerplant schooling, I figured that I would be moving down to lower elevations in the not too far future. But once this is done, I will start building an LS/VTEC strictly for turbo. Hope that answeres ur question!

Mugen or one of those JDM brands makes a 6-speed sequential for the B-series, but they're pretty hard to come by, and it'll run you $3-4k used. It's not worth it. Just pick up a Type-R or '99-'00 Civic Si tranny.

I'd like a 6 speed for economy....my 5th puts it at 4000 rpm at 80 mph. :frown:

Because n/a is a completely different animal. They sound good and the powerband is even better. They have their benefits (and disadvantages) over forced induction.
