Door Key

I never had this happen to me but today my key got stuck in the door handle on the driver side. It is a little tough to open, but does open with very little to some force. Even the power door locks does not lock the driver side door completely, so I must do it manually (passenger side is perfectly fine). What could be the problem? I don't know much about keys and locks, but could it be the locking mechanism thats busted or something else?

it could be the lock is jamming/getting stuck on somthing, or there might just be too much friction. i had the same problem, when i put remote locking on, the locking mechanism had gotten disconnected from the part that keeps the dor locked, so i recomend jus taking off your door panel and looking a it for yourself

If too much friction, a little WD-40 shouldn't negatively effect it? I would take off the door panel, but considering its been a bit windy and cold where I live, I will have to wait and hope the weather will become better. Thanks!

today looks like a rgeat day to go out and work on your car, it shouldn't take more than 15 minutes to take the panel off. Best day i'v seen in a while, GO BEARS !!!

Today was a good day, but I took the time to change oil and do some maintenance stuff..I will have to do it another day.

Well, took off door panel and looked into it. Just added some WD-40 to the whole mechanism, reinstalled the door panel and works like new! I hate putting the door panels back on.
