I got a ticket for going 50 in a 30 and because I was 20 over its a mandatory court date. Unfortunately, I'll be in New York on the court date. How do I reschedule it? Do I just call the city building?
Do I try to negotiate with the assist DA when I do have the meeting with them? This will be my first real moving violation.

if youve never gotten a ticket before they should send you a plea bargin. but i think you are stuck with the date but not 100% about that

No you aren't stuck with the court date. Call the court and ask for an extension or show up and ask for an extension.

So then why did you think you were stuck on with it? Pure ignorance!!! You felt that you needed to post something you had no real experience or knowledge about? Are you civic-8442's mini me?

Denver has walk in hours I just learned.
Call the court and ask for an extension or show up and ask for an extension.
easier to just show up.

Seriously. just resist the urge to hit "post" if you don't know WTF you're talking about. There's no need to post useless shit all over the place to pad your post count.
I actually just back from court. We couldn't go to the date on the ticket, called the city and they told us a bunch of different days and times when we could just walk in and take care of the ticket. (this was in denver county) Your best bet is to just mak some calls, it would be a waste of tie IMO to make the drive to the court house to find out.
You don't haggle your ticket like a used car. The DA will give you a reduced violation, take it or leave it. If you plead not guilty then you can present your case to a judge or a jury (extra $25). I'm not sure if the DA's "deal" is still available if you lose though.

:werd: And they do know each other. Sometimes I wonder if they're the same person.
