Since I'm planning on an A4 to replace the supra, I went and drove a '99 yesterday in Boulder (I was in Broomfield for work).

What a nice car. Pretty much a DOG as far as get up and go, but the ride, comfort, interior, design, etc more than make up for it. I stood on the brakes at 80mph, and once the ABS engaged I started steering from lane to lane. Beautiful. Roadnoise was pretty minimal, and the interior was laid out nicely. I espl like the somewhat wrap-around dash.

I'm sure there is some stuff which I can do to help the non-performance aspect of the motor/etc once I get one in the garage.

Just wanted to share. And here are a few pictures of a '98 A4 which I'm considering.

Yeah, sure an A4 is nice (okay, really nice) but still! In comparison to your Supra I've heard so much about! Come on - don't let go of the Supra!!

Too late, John's picked up his new ride and is en route back with it!

Did he get rid of the Supra? Last I had heard, the buyer backed out. That would suck if he picked up the new car without getting rid of the old one. I did that on the S4. Three car payments sucked!

Spyderman - I'd love to own an S4 (S6?), but it's just not affordable. The A4 was $12,500, which makes it very affordable. The balance of the supra proceeds are going to pay off some short term high interest debt.

I just got back from Texas - Egads that state sucks. Drove just under 1000 miles yesterday, and had some oil pressure issues. Not sure if the oil pump is going out or if I have a bad high pressure switch. I'll start pulling the bellypans off the car today and playing joe mechanic.

The supra buyer did indeed back out. The punk. :( And the supra should be out of the body shop today (friday 9/6/02). Just gotta find another buyer.

I'm offering a finders fee to anyone who brings me a buyer.

Car payments? No. The supra & the van are paid off - we paid the supra off in about 9 months. The van we bought for cash. I had to borrow some $ for the A4 (a friend had the $$ to loan me), so as soon as the supra sells I'll repay him (with interest, of course).

Cheers.

Hey John, my buddy is trying to sell his Supra too, once he sells it (for around what you're asking), I'm trying to talk him into buying yours.

Congrats on the Audi John! What are the details on it: 1.8T?Quattro?

I have a friend who might be interested in the Supra, I'll ask...

Rich - selling a supra for $30k and buying another for $30k?

Don't talk him into it - hypnotize him. I want a phone call from him at 11:43 am tomorrow morning. :) :)

The A4 is as snappy as the minivan at this altitude. At sea level it actually was pretty peppy...

Yes - the A4 is a 1.8 TQ. Santorin blue. A few dings on the body, and a couple of cigar burns (1st owner smoked, I'm the 3rd owner) but otherwise in fine shape.

Washed all the bugs off and did the engine bay quiclky - what a difference THAT made. :)
