I hope it's just not Hillary to be next.
On another note, I'm interested in seeing what he's going to do in his last 2 years.

What's the point of discussing something that never happened?
What do you think the economy and stock market would be like today if it never crashed in 1929, then again in 1987?

I never would have made this comment when he was first elected, but it's been years now, so the point is kind of moot.

I worry that people are going to vote for her just for the symbolism of having someone other than a white male as President. It's not a step forward if we elect someone who is bad for the country. Let's hold her to the same standards that we would any other candidate. Same goes for Barak Obama, and it looks like he'll get my vote, simply because of his intelligence and attitude which sets him apart from most politicians.

I think people talk more shit about Hillary than she deserves. I'd sooner vote for Obama or McCain though.

Alright, main points I got from the State of the Union.
-21,500 troops going to Iraq (no draft M@)
-conclusion to the war is coming (we'll see)
-middle class is going to bite the bullet while lower class gets new perks.

Let's hold her to the same standards that we would any other candidate.
Well let's see, the last two candidate's "standards" were:
a) a guy who got head in the oval office then lied about it
and
b) a guy who can't spell "head", "oval", or "office" -- and lies about everything.
I think as long the standard of "breathing" is met anyone has a shot.

Good call Scott, but don't forget $RICH$. God forbid we put someone in office that actually has worked a legit job and had to cuss at their bills from time to time.

Great point man, it's the truth, something is wrong with the system. Let's face it, it's not the voters that put someone in office, it's the Corporations and funding that put them there. The only reason Kerry lost is because AEM, DC sports, and Spoon pulled out at the last moment.
What was he saying about some sort of civilan reserve idea? I wanted to hear more about that.

Education attempts to give you knowledge, not intellect. There's a big difference.

Yes I did. Would you like to see my diploma?
Going to a fancy school doesn't make you smart. And I would *hope* that at Yale they teach "If you're important enough to have people writing speeches for you, FOLLOW the speeches. Don't make up your own words."

I am going out on a limb on this one. Just because you fumble some words doesnt mean you are not intelligent. I have to give briefings to Generals all the time. And I stumble sometimes, even when I am perfectly knowledgeable about what it is I am trying to convey. If you want to hear someone who speaks clearly and with proper etiquette listen to his PR guy Tom Snow.

This is my favorite quote from myshtern from 3 years ago.
"If you have taken macroeconomics than you would realize that the American influence in Iraq will make America money in the long run. America will have an arab country producing oil that it is friendly with. That means in 2 years, we wont need to depend on OPEC and will have friends selling cheaper oil. "
Couldn't have been more wrong.;NutKick;

It's not "fumbling some words", it's illiteracy. If the man can read, then this should never be an issue. Or if it is him "fumbling" then it should happen way, way less. This guy is the leader of the free world..... piecing together a sentence that someone else wrote isn't rocket surgery.
Do you have word for word what you are saying scrolling in front of you on a teleprompter? 'Cuz he does.....

no i dont... but to me i think it would be harder to try and present something to an audience when i was reading it from a teleprompter... if i didnt just stare straight at it.

knowing how to talk to a group of people confidently and sound intelligent, persuasive, and make a good arguement is the best skill to have and says alot about a person. I know that in countless circumstances if i was a blubbering idiot unable to form a proper sentence i would not be where i am. Bush is a result of of the midwest's ignorance, hate to stereotype but stereotypes are stereotypes for a reason...
