Figure I'll give you guys a shot at this.

I have a code 19 on a 93 Civic Ex Auto. It drives ok, from stuff I've read when the solenoid goes bad the car can stall when you stop because the converter stays locked, mine doesn't do this. I also read stuff that says you may not get overdrive, which I don't seem to get. So I would guess OD is not functioning.

The ignition is broken so whatever the auto has in there that checks for it to be out of a driving gear probably isn't working but I'm not sure it uses the same sensor or if this has anything to do with it.

The speedo is also wacky, occasionally it works but for the most part at VERY slow speed it ticks back and forth between 2 numbers like a pendulum and as the car speeds up it sits in the middle since it can't move that fast.

I assume this is the VSS but there is no VSS code. Could they be related?

Ideas?

Is the Lock Up Solenoid easy to change? It has been so cold I haven't looked for it yet.

Can driving further harm it?

if its stuck in lock-up mode your car will die when you come to a stop.

if it wont lock up then the fluid can get rather hot, and could potentially damage the transmission, but you shouldnt have too much to worry about, just take it easy in 3rd and 4th gear, and try to drive slower. get it fixed soon.

the ignithion switch shouldn't have anything to do with the trans.
the nuetral safety swithc is located on the shifter assembly.

not sure whats up with your speedo. i've seen that many times before but never really looked into what causes it. i would try a new cluster and/or VSS since they are rather easy to change.

Well I swapped the Solenoid and no luck, now I have 2 spares. However, I found the issue with the code...

Looks like someone tried to steal it by prying it out of the car? Much more work then removing it the correct way. The board is cracked a little in the last pic. The speedo is still wacky, I have a VSS to swap in.
