K so i need to test the continuity of the main relay in a 90 civic. I know which terminals to connect power and ground wires but what do i use for the power source as the relay terminals are pertty small. Then i just check the terminals with a voltometer?
Thanks

What type of relay? Are we talking one like we use in car audio or alarms or what? Got a pic? That would help a lot.

he said the main relay.
there is an article in the FSM about testing the main relay and I seem to recall a little faq/how-to on testing all the parts of it on either honda-tech or pgmfi.org
try those two sites and if you can't find it i'll dig through my files and post it. I know i have it but where is the biggest question.

Easiest way to test the relay is to buy a set of jumper wires with alligator clips (like this (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062660&cp=2032058.2032235.2032304&parentPage=family)at radioshack). Just hook a wire to positive and ground of your car battery and hook those up to the coil terminals of the relay. Then test continuity with your DMM.

Just solder the cracked pins internally. 99% garunteed that is what is wrong with it. Sometimes you may test it and it will test good but wont carry enough current to activate the fuel pump. I repair these constantly.

What Ghandi said. Plus, by the time you remove it and get it hooked up for testing, it will have cooled down enough to where it will start working again. It's easier and better just to solder up all the joints and send you on your way.
