Who is everyone using here? i just canceled my american family because they were pissing me off (wrong billing dates, cancelations, etc)

Now i need an insurance company for me and the woman, she has a clean record and i have a dwai from 2 years ago. any suggestions? Thinking e-surance because they're cheap, but not sure if they suck or not.

progressive will be able to write you. Might be worth a look. I worked there and know the company, I also have my car with them.

I have Allstate which is also the company I work for. I've never had an issue with them. However, since you have a DWAI, we probably wouldnt have the best rates for you. From what I've seen, progessive has some pretty good rates for "higher risk" people. You should try to get insurance ASAP though. A lapse of insurance will take your rate up. Some companies allow a small lapse so you should hurry up and get something going.

I dont know much abotu esurance. I'd guess that you get what you pay for. SHitty customer service, horrible claim process, etc. Then again, they could be great.

esurance is out, my integra is a garage queen, literally taken out 2 months out of the year. While it's parked, they're requiring me to have full coverage (including bodily damage, under/uninsured motorist, collision) even though it's not going to leave the garage, and it's not financed in any way, shape or form.

Blargh, stupid DUI. how many years do i have to keep filing an sr22 anyway? anyone know?

I believe its up to the state. I know some people that have only had to carry it for 3 months and some had to have it for 3 years. There's no set time period.

Nope, it's up to the state. An sr22 itself is no big deal though. It's a flat 5 dollar fee to file it through progressive. A DUI is less against you than an accident with them as well. I've got my homeowners insurance through Allstate and haven't had any problems. I have a clean driving history and progressive just so happened to be far less expensive for my corvette than anyone else.

Brian, you might check with Allstate now. They came out with the new "your choice auto" and the rates are pretty good. It might not hurt to have your agent run it again. We have some features like lowering deductibles, accident forgiveness and 5% credit towards your renewals for clean driving. Especially if you dont drive your 'vette in the winter. We can put it in suspense so its fully covered while its parked, but you save about 70% on that car.

My policy comes up in a month or two. I'll check with my agent. :)

out of frustration, i went ahead and signed one more month with american family, to give myself enough time to find another company. will try progressive now, through AmFam i'm paying 225 for both cars, the integra on parking insurance only, and my gf's 00 4 dr corolla on full coverage, and HOPE i can get a similar deal.

The sr22 isn't so much the fines/fees thing, it's the fact that if i have an issue with insurance companies like i am now they cancel my driver's licence if i go more than i think 3 days without insurance. that means another all day field trip to the dmv =(

Esurance is shit. I had an accident with them, driving a friend's car, and even though they agreed to cover it they acted like they didn't have his number while calling me asking me for it, but they kept calling him and asking him to say his insurance would cover it. Finally I just paid for the accident shit myself, and they called to tell me that they'd "dropped the claim due to lack of communication"

Cheap shit is still shit.

I was going to suggest American Family, I also think it depends on your agent. Ours used to suck, and now we're happy. They get us discounts whenever they can... I've been with them for 8 years, so the longevity helps alot.

American family was ok when I had a fairly crappy driving record, but after my record was clear it never went down any.

USAA is great if you can get it, way better rates than any other company I could find and so far the customer service has been great.

well, looks like i'm switching agents, and sticking with american family. Everyone else is going to hold onto my DUI for the next 2 1/2 years, but am fam is dropping it in october of this year. I also got a call back from the agent instead of one of her lackies, and she applied good student, married, and multiple policy holder discounts towards my premium dropping it another $50 a month, even though i'm not in school nor married lol.
