What exactly is the difference between a BOV and the DV? Can the DV be used in turbo applications?

that's what a dv is for, turbo. It's just the difference of venting into the atmosphere, which VW can't do without probs, unless it's a hybrid valve...A DV puts all of the boost back, since the MAF sensor is after it.
