View Full Version : Inspection
How much do you charge to do a complete car inspection (struts, compression test, leakdown, etc.)? It will be on a 1995 GSR.

We have a used car inspection check for 4 cyl. cars that we do for $79.95 that includes a compression check. If you want a leakdown inspection add $80 to that.
What are some of the things you do in your used car inspection?

Its a comprehensive full inspection of the entire vehicle inside and out. It has about 60 check list items including brakes, suspension, engine, leaks, electrical, body damage. You can review the list here:

uh... don't try and steal business from the ghandi in his own room!
Ok, I think I will have you do the inspection without the leakdown test but on a 1995 LS. I would like to set up an appointment for tomorrow, Saturday the 2nd of Feb. Is that possible? Do you guys accept credit cards?

Tomarrow is Saturday, but it's the 3rd, not the 2nd. Not that it matters.

Please call the shop to make the appointment. By the time I get back to this message it will be tomorrow. Trying to set an appointment up with us through the forum is the slowest possible way to do so, and may not get done correctly. Call the shop at 720-974-0888, talk to Barb, it will take 30 seconds.
Thx for the inspection! What could cause low compression?

worn or broken rings, leaking headgasket, burnt or bent valves, old age coupled with poor maintenance can cause these problems.
I've concluded that with a leaking water pump, the timing belt has not been changed....correct?

Well I highly doubt the motor would have gone this long on the stock belt. THey may have done the belt and not the water pump. Most shops with a $99 timing belt coupon are guilty of this.
Im not sure if you remember the stuff you saw, but will any of those problems result in blowing a motor? Also, the stuff that were leaking, is it the actual component or the lines attached to it? I didn't think of these questions when I was there until I sat down and looked at it in depth.
