Hi Toby, just a quick question. My Integra has the usual "crappy surging" idle problem, ive switched out the IAC motor(used) and adjusted the FITV all the way in. I also played with the idle set screw a bit and cant get this thing to idle right. Im positive there are no vaccum leaks around the intake or throttle body. There is some very slight vaccum at the port for the FITV when its completly warmed up, should there be?. Also what are the chances I got a bad ECU?. This car has never been the same since it was stolen and stripped back in August. Any help or suggestions would be VERY cool. Thanks.

You dont want to set the fast idle valve all the way in.

I tightened my FITV when my Del Slo used to do this and it stopped for awhile but lately it's starting to do it again slightly. Only does it when its extremely cold outside. I'd like to know too.

This is true, you need to be able to bypass some air to the iacv, try backing off the screw about 3/4 turn.

I doub its an ECU issue. Most likely the thermo valve is bad. It should not have any vacuum at the inlet port when warmed up.

Allright ill get a new FITV from the dealer and give it a try. I dont even want to mess with the old one anymore, the o-rings are kinda seeping a little coolant since I took it apart. I thought maybee I was overlooking something stupid. One more question, to set the idle screw you unplug the IACV and set the screw to what RPM?. By the way this is a 93 teg with a b16.

400-450 rpm with the IACV unplugged.

Update: replaced the FITV with a new one, no longer have vaccum at the port but the idle still bounces intermitent. Any other ideas?.

I would have to look at it. Could be a bad TW sensor or another vacuum leak.
