I called and they said they wouldn't process my app for a few days so I won't be able to assist in this snow storm. I went ahead and filled it out anyway.

yeah, we had to save a bunch of those guys in the march 03 blizzard with our deuce and a halfs and 5 tons because they got stuck too. Leave it to the national guard, they'll get the job done.

I pulled like 5 people out today already. 4Runner is doing great, this is the first big snow I've had it for, had the Wrangler last time.

Go Toyota Trucks. Snow Rated.

You mean jeeps can do more than cut people off, and go really slow in the left hand lane?

That's funny, I thought it was the driver that caused that to happen. Who knew.

Did anyone sign up for this? I saw them on the news last week. They featured a guy in a big LandCruiser giving a nurse a ride.

I got my Rodeo last week, just in time. I'll be busy with the fire dept working all the accidents, or else I'd sign up for this. The thing has brand new mickey thompsons on it, I didn't slide once.

I need some lift and tires on my Excursion; I was thinking of applying because it'll carry an entire emergency room's worth of docs and nurses. :) But it got stuck twice after the last storm, in front of my house. So it's not up to the job yet.

FEAT seems to be quite the clown operation so far this morning.

They woke me up at 6am to give me someone to pick up and they gave me the guys address and number. I called him up and he suggested that i have the wrong number. I confirmed his name and where he needed to go and then he said he could probably get his car out.

call FEAT back to get another. Called the person up and had to leave a message, no call back after 1/2 hour.

That's lame B. I drove up to Boulder around 4pm yesterday and it wasn't bad. Drove back around 7:30, still not too bad. Both ways on 36. Doesn't look too awful outside from my window anways...

Tobi I dropped some guy off at the towing place right up the street from youon 60th. I called the shop but since no one answered I didn't swing by. It was probably at about 130 or 2.

I'll post up the story of the day later. I don't know if Ill do this again.

No it's volunteering. One of the guys filled up my tank though which was nice.

Cliff notes at the bottom.

So after I didn't get a call back after 1/2 hour (see previous post), I called disbatch again. They gave me a new number to a nursing home (oh yay). So i get to the nursing home and I'm supposed to be picking up a little old lady in a wheel chair. For those that don't know, my rig is super high. There was a taxi that was taking someone to the same place to they took the little old lady too.

Next was an employee from a foster home. He couldn't get to work the night before so FEAT drove him there and I took him home. This was the only one that went flawlessly.

Next up, 11 people were picked up i-70 when their cars got stuck and they were taken to a school on quincy and kipling to spend the night. They all had to be taken to the impound lot to pick up their cars. The impound lot was supposed to be at about 6th and Indiana. I could only hold 1 passenger since Less and the puppy was with me so I called my step dad to see if he wanted to take some folks too. He was down. So we get to the school and it turns out that everyones cars are at different impounds.
I thought I lucked out cuz the guy I picked up only had to go to quincy and federal. We got there and his car wasn't there. He was told it was at 60th and Sheridan. So we started heading down there and he called the place to make sure his car was there. They said it wasn't but they had some cars still coming in. We hung out at a gas station while he made some calls to the PD and other towing companies trying to find his car. We decided to go ahead and go to 60th and sheridan. Luckily his car was there.
My step dad took 2 people in his truck. They were told their cars were at 56th and something. They rolled up to the towing place at the same time as the tow truck that hd one of their cars. The other guys car was somewhere else but the tow truck driver took him there.

After that I was done and the roads were never bad so I called and said I was done for the day.

Sounds like a lot of BS... hopefully it created a warm fuzzy feeling that made it all worth while. ;)

I would have loved to see the face of the poor old lady in the wheelchair when she saw you drive up in the beast. Cinematic moment for sure.

When you mentioned the nursing home, the first thing that crossed my mind was nurses in short candy-striper uniforms, thigh-highs and high heels. I guess there was none of that, though. Damn! :)
