I might be working at Advanced Auto on 104th in thornton. I go in for an interview today. I'll probably just do it until autobody starts picking up again. I was wondering if anybody here works at a checker, autozone kind of place? I've heard they actually treat there employees fairly well. What kind of pay should i expect? I'm looking for at least 10. Just looking to hear some positive/neg feedback if any of you have worked there. I know one of the assistant managers has an evo so pay cant be that bad.

Thanks Terry, remind me to punch you in the ear. I'm about 99% sure i have more knowledge then most of the tards that work at these places. I remember when i had my rx-7 omg the stories some of those guys produced.
parts monkey-"did you know the rotory can rev past 20k"
me-"yeah i did and did you know you can run rotarys on h20"
parts monkey-"thats stupid man rotory's run on a minimum of 105 octane, my buddy blew his motor because he kept running 85"
me-"was it turbo or high compression...."
parts monkey-"yeah i think it had like quad turbo's, and vtec(no joke)"
me-......stairs blankly and says "WOOOOOOOOW!!"
the end.

I worked at Checker Auto about 9 years ago. So I'm sure the pay etc has changed dramatically since then:) I was about 17 years old and loved talking cars all day. Pay at the time was pretty good. Pretty easy work, but as with most retail jobs dealing with idiots every day got old sometimes.

I worked as an assistant manager at Schucks Auto Supply (known as Checkers here in Colorado) for a year or so in Oregon....
Not a clue about pay, because minimum wage is $2/hour more in Oregon then Colorado, but overall the company was pretty good. I honestly did not like working int he parts industry because you get too many cheap asses trying to find the cheapest way to fix something possible, rather doing it correctly. And I found that alot of the employees were retards themselves, I knew more then almost any of the managers in the area as well as any of the people in my store...so ya, it has its perks (cheap car parts, etc) pretty lax enviroment, but has its draw backs as well!

I dont live to work, i work to live. How do you feel about columbus day? We Work! Really he discovered the free world!" lol sorry just reminiscing from you me & dupree haha.

I was an assistant manager at one of the Checkers in FTC for a couple years while I was college (2 years ago). The pay wasn't bad, although I don't remeber exactly what I was making. Pretty easy job, except you deal with alot of morons, and pissed off cheap asses. And yes, most counter people at these places are morons. I worked witha few myself. But atleast the ones I worked with had good people skills, and weren't afraid to ask if they didn't know... Its not a bad job, and I had quite a bit of fun there.
