Sorta. I'd hardly consider a 40px thumbnail a decent way to browse for cars. ;)

I vote that people STFU and worry about their own problems, rather than trying to spread their "needs" to other people who are happy with the way that things are.

 Justin doesn't have a point. Like most people, when he tells someone else that they "need" something, the truth is that he needs them to have it much more than they need or want it themselves. This is because most people want to push their priorities onto other people, in an attempt to validate it for themselves. This is the same mentality as a drunk who says that everyone else needs to drink, or an ingorant ricer who tries to give people unsolicited car advice. They don't really give a shit about you... they just want to make their own choices and priorities seem acceptable by getting other people to do the same, and they tend to have trouble dealing with people who think for themselves.

We don't joke on HAI. And if you think we do... you're oh so wrong.

That's a good witty reply, Mario, but an insult disguised as a joke is still an insult. Every person here has certain things that they don't joke around about, and it's usually things that they're sick and tired of getting bothered about by insecure asshats. I've avoided those areas with most other people here, but maybe I shouldn't, seeing as how they don't show me the same respect.

I'm sorry that some people can't handle the fact that getting laid is not my #1 priority in life, but I've realized that there are more important things in life which suffer when I put that first. That's my decision and I really don't owe anyone an explaination, because it is none of their business. If people can't understand it or don't like it, then that's their problem, not mine.

My roommate just discovered that the other day. I think it's kinda cool if you are looking around for a particular kind of car or a particular price range.

Nope. Everything else is going well. My only problem is people who think it's funny to repeatedly take shots at me on things that they know I don't appreciate "jokes" about. You don't see me making "funny" little comments about things that I know Justin doesn't want to joke about, and I simply expect the same in return. This particular subject isn't really even that big of a deal, but the attitude and intentional disrespect I'm seeing is.

Such people obviously aren't friends, because that's not how friends act. In the past, I've chosen to be passive and just not hang out with people who can't seem to show any respect, but that's apparently not enough, so it's time to burn some bridges and move on...

-=[Juztin]=-
12-13-2006, 06:38 PM
If you want to take what I joked about as disrespect, then so be it. That's your choice and who knows why. Everybody on HAI always jokes, but apparently you've lost that personality trait. I remember you along with the other clique always busting my balls about being whipped and what not, but I never saw that as disrespect and openly took the great jokes you guys came up with. Too bad it ends like this, but like you say, it's time to burn bridges and move on. Good luck in your endevaours.

Everyone has their buttons. We could make jokes all day long about wookies and what not and I doubt Weston would give a shit. He just doesn't like hearing that particular joke over and over, and yes people do say it often enough I can see his point. Certain things can get old if they aren't really that funny in the first place.

It's not all that different from Dave getting pissed when we tease him about stalling his car last summer. He probably doesn't like that either, and would probably get mad about it if we did it constantly...

I know Justin was joking as much as Weston does, it's just that sometimes a joke needs to be put out of it's misery...

:werd: It's one thing to make a joke, and I'll laugh along with most of them, but it's quite another to repeatedly try to put someone down for their beliefs and values. I'd like to think that most people are at least intelligent enough to know that everyone has some things that you just don't joke about, so I guess that means that certain people are just intentionally being asshats then.

I really don't care too much about one little dumb comment on it's own, but this theme has gone on for far too long, and I'm no longer willing to hold my tounge, or pretend that certain people are my friends when they sure don't act like it. So, that's why they're getting treated just like any other random dipshit who says that kind of stuff to me.

I realize that you're not the sharpest tool in the shed, but even you are capable of reading better than that. I said, "I really don't care too much about one little dumb comment on it's own, but this theme has gone on for far too long". In other words, there's a hell of a lot more to this than just this thread, but once again, you're ignorantly sticking your nose into someone else's business.
