I am in college rigth now, on my way to a field that I will make a lot of money and have something intresting every day but there is one thing. There are no schoolarships that I can find to do what I really want to do. I have looked around and found that atleast one, but you need a SCCA licence. I do not want to drive fast on city streets any more. It seems rather stupid now. I like to ride my bike but I like to keep it slower and live to see another day. I was just wanting to know what steps that I can do the get in the right direction. It is sort of like a dream, lofty as it is. To be able to do this once I would be happy. I was tempted to put this in the serious(sp) section but I bet lots of you will just laugh. I do have a lack of fear that wich keeps most people safe, and I tend to be able to thing when things are crazy. I do not know, I like to atleast try a track some time too. I am all ears, and try not to be an ass. Thanks.

I know that. I want to learn ho to drive fast off the streets. It has cost me to much money and I have had a lot of close calls. I want to do it safer.

Medical/nursing. I am also talking to an Airforce recruiter. But I have been working on the medical part mostly.

What kind of racing school are you talking about, driving or mechanic? I can't tell from your first post (no shocker there).

You should start with a regular driving course. Learn to drive as good as say ...... my grandma.

Once you've done that maybe you could do a basic performance skills course.

werd. thats the course my parents made me take.
not only does it teach you a lot of basic techniques needed for everyday driving, it also lowers insurance quite a bit.

When I took Masterdrive in '95, I'm quite certain I was the only person that wanted to be there - got my permit 3 months earlier than normal :D

Skip barber, I have heard about them, they sound like a good school. Also, If i drive the speeds of normal person i can drive well, it is when I push the car is when I have issued. My next car will be an Audi a4, something basic that I will like to have for all year.

Go to te DMV and sit in a chair, don't move, talk, or even grab a service ticket. Just sit there and watch! Then, go to traffic court and do the same thing. Once you have completed this, then you need to go take a basic driving course. Why you ask, because no matter what you think, you cannot drive. It has nothing to do with on the street or off the street, you have no common sense or defensive driving skillz. Driving to you is pushing the accelerator and the brake pedal and going where you want to go. Ther is much much more to driving than that. Go listen and learn, and quit thinking you have a clue, because you have none.

i'm an instructor there.

its actually a pretty good program.

don't take the 2 day skill tho. take the one day court class, we do slalom crash avoidance, braking and handling and skidpads, teach you how to connect to the car and couple technics

to be a good driver you need to know where is your and you vehicle limit. and that what we do...

I try to push the car to the limit pretty fast, then I know what it can do. But I am smarter then I use to be, things from almost 6 months ago are the reason why I have a red licence. Are audi's hard to matain? they are not to steep new but there might be a reason for that.

Audi's have a reputation for being notoriously difficult to maintain. i can say from personal experience that you not only need a lot of audi specific tools, but also access to service publications in order to get the procedures done correctly. a lot of information can be found on the internet, but they are decently difficult to work on, even with said information.

not to mention parts cost roughtly twice what honda parts do.

BMW parts are 3 times honda parts, and even more difficult to work on than most Audi's.

you might be able to pick up an E30 3-Series for cheap. they come with up to a 2.8l six i believe. i have heard that they are fun to drive, and you might be able to fix it yourself, but i doubt it.

please for the love of god dont mention buying an old porsche....
