Well, let's see... everyone who actually has any real autocross or road course experience is saying that Kinematics is going to do a lot better than you expect, and you'll need quite a bit of speed on the straights to make up for his speed in the turns. Maybe that should tell you something, or you can keep listening to inexperienced people who tell you what you want to hear. You know, I kind of do have some experience racing a turbo FWD Honda through the turns, and I'm saying that it's not nearly as simple as you think it is to use speed on the straights to compensate for lack of speed in the turns. Believe it or not, being 10 MPH faster on corner exit is worth more like 20 MPH at the end of the straight. That just basic road racing knowledge.

I don't doubt that your car could win, since it's huge advantage on the straights could possibly make up for it's lower speed in the turns, but with you driving it, I really don't see that happening. Car vs car, Kinematics may be at a disadvantage. He has better handling, but significantly less power, and a little more weight. However, driver vs driver is going to play a big role in this. I've seen these kinds of races plenty of times before (on actual tracks, not mountain ricing), so I wont be surprised when Kinematics wins.

Yes, but M@ is the one doing the challenging here. Also, this race is a compromise... there will be straights and such, so it's not pure cornering. If we wanted to give Kinematics an overwhelming advantage (like M@ has in a drag race), then the race would be autocross, which is a course made out of cones in a parking lot that is nothing but tight turns and precision driving.

Like I said in the other thread, it's a CV. It's making a shitty noise, and it's still in my car. I'd be more than happy to meet up with you guys if it's that big of a deal to you and prove that it's in bad shape. Like I said, it's not snapped.. the CV is popping. Just about anyone can go to an open track day and drive a road course, but you get a substantially different view of things when you do it competitively and have to take a look at where people lose time and how much they're losing. It's quite surprising how much little things add up. In any case, convince M@ to do this so that we can settle it.
