SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!

SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!

SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!

I have for sale a chicago electric tig welder (from harbor freight) that I have added a pedal to (so you can control amperage).

The welder normally sells for $200 + tax and comes with no way to wire it up and no supplies. not even a plug. With my welder you get the whole kit, just add gas and a regulator. I'll include 2 new tungstens all the cups collets and everything you need to weld with. The unit has a 20 amp twist style 220v plug on it now.

The reason i'm selling this is because I got a much larger AC/DC tig and simply don't need this one any longer. It does great on mild and stainless which is what I bought it for. I built a few sets of charge pipes and a full stainless manifold with it. The pedal works great, I've used it and tested it and works on stainless like a champ.

I can't post pictures right now but I will in the next few days, if you have any questions or want to come see the welder and a few pieces of scrap i've welded with it you are more than welcome to. Please pm me or call me 806-535-3676 (my name is Jared btw). I need to sell this thing soon as bills are coming up.

It's not hard; just takes some practice :) If you've ever arc welded that helps some; going straight from mig-tig or nothing-tig is a bit akward

ive done both arc and mig. imo arc was pretty easy, mig took some time, of course this was 3 years ago so im pretty sure i forgot everything i learned.

Buyer beware, here's a convo I had with ComputerJLT about this welder. Seems rather pushy to get rid of it, don't ya think?
-----------------------

Eye Heart Boost (12:16:48 AM): so your welder
Eye Heart Boost (12:16:54 AM): what kinda payments would you want
Honda of Fury (12:17:01 AM): half now half later?
Honda of Fury (12:17:07 AM): is this matt?
Eye Heart Boost (12:17:09 AM): ya
Eye Heart Boost (12:17:11 AM): tiz I
Honda of Fury (12:17:12 AM): oh hi
Eye Heart Boost (12:17:14 AM): lol
Honda of Fury (12:17:26 AM): yea if you can do half and half whenever u get paid thats cool.... just leave me something as collateral
Honda of Fury (12:17:41 AM): or whatever you're thinkin
Eye Heart Boost (12:17:41 AM): how much are you lookin' to get from it
Honda of Fury (12:18:08 AM): have a guy on honda-tech going ti give me $220 shipped middle/late next week so no less than that ~ $200
Eye Heart Boost (12:18:25 AM): eh, not worth it to me to be honest buddy.. nothing personal
Honda of Fury (12:18:39 AM): good luck getting anything like it for less
Eye Heart Boost (12:18:43 AM): I understand
Eye Heart Boost (12:18:44 AM): just saying
Honda of Fury (12:18:51 AM): whatever
Eye Heart Boost (12:18:56 AM): dont get bitter dude
Eye Heart Boost (12:19:14 AM): I just dont see paying that much for a welder that produced the welds you showed a pic of
Honda of Fury (12:19:33 AM): yea because the person behind it has NOTHING to do with it
Honda of Fury (12:19:45 AM): those were some of the first welds I ever made with it
Eye Heart Boost (12:19:48 AM): lol... grow up dude.. later.
Honda of Fury (12:19:53 AM): dipshit
Eye Heart Boost (12:20:01 AM): ummm ok
Eye Heart Boost (12:20:08 AM): seriously, grow up.
Eye Heart Boost (12:20:14 AM): I said nothing personal
Honda of Fury (12:20:16 AM): get a brain
Eye Heart Boost (12:20:18 AM): and you get offended?
Eye Heart Boost (12:20:24 AM): get a fucking clue.
Honda of Fury (12:20:36 AM): you assume that the welder is crap because someone with no experience made meh welds with it...
Honda of Fury (12:20:42 AM): you really are as stupid as people say you are
Eye Heart Boost (12:20:49 AM): Why are you so offended? rofl

ComputerJLT
12-03-2006, 01:20 AM
lol nice matt... I had a feeling you'd post this you whiney fuck. why dont you post the rest of the conversation where you're being a little bitch... Only e-pussies post aim logs... you're the one getting offended.

You tell me this welder isn't worth anything, you're not going to find anything for less. If you weren't so stuipid you'd know that the person doing the welding has more to do with the welds than the welder. This thing even on sell sells for $200 + tax and comes with nothing; i'm giving whoever buys a ton of extra shit for free. If I didnt just buy a 400amp ac/dc tig I'd hold on to this it's a great little welder...

But whatever i'm selling the welder on honda-tech next week to someone who KNOWS what they're getting. low-balling douche bag

M@
12-03-2006, 01:25 AM
*I'm* the one getting offended? LOL. I'm laughing. You're pissed off because I had a set price that I didn't want to pay more for? Ok, that makes a ton of sense. Let's see.... you walk into a car dealership wanting to spend $5k, but you see a car you're interested in for $7k. You offer the dealership $5k, and they say "Whatever. You're a fucking idiot. Yadda yadda yadda.", but no.. YOU'RE the one getting bitter because you only wanted to spend $5k on the product.

Think about that for a second.

Ok, has it settled in? I posted the convo to show people on HAI the kind of seller you are. They've already seen your toolness in the tuning thread from a while back, this only further proves your suckiness. You want me to post the rest of the convo? I'd be happy to. You know, the part I left out where you went and started making personal attacks. All because of what? Me not wanting to spend a certain amount on an item you're selling?

Grow the fuck up, retard.

ComputerJLT
12-03-2006, 01:29 AM
You're the one that started with the personal attacks and i've done plenty of business with local people all of them very happy.

And if the tuning thread was so bad WHY DID YOU ASK ME TO TUNE YOUR CAR?! you and about 3 other people, i got more publicity out of that thread than any other. No one has yet to have any complaints about my tuning or personal skills.

And no your 5k/7k analagy is wrong; its more like you going into a lot seeing a car for 1k and saying i'll give you $50. You'd get laughed at.

M@
12-03-2006, 01:37 AM
I never made an offer on the welder, jackass. I said you were asking more than I was willing to pay. De-de-deeeeeeeeee.

I wanted you to tune my car before I read that thread, then I saw your tuning techniques and almost roffled myself to death.

Eye Heart Boost (12:19:48 AM): lol... grow up dude.. later.
Honda of Fury (12:19:53 AM): dipshit

Hmmmm.. where did *I* make the first personal attack, exactly?

ComputerJLT
12-03-2006, 01:39 AM
I'm not going to argue anymore. You're being childish.

"tee hee look at me, ima go post this edited convo make him looks bad hee hee" </5 year old>

M@
12-03-2006, 01:39 AM
Point proven.

On that note, good luck with the sell. Like I said before, you are selling it for more than I am looking to spend - don't get offended by that, it's just how life works sometimes.

The funny thing is that this welder sells new on Ebay for, well way under $200, and at harbor freight for $250 with extras. So why buy used when you can get new with warranty and from a retailer. Even if Matt edited your AIM conversation it looks to me like you are the one that started it and took it too personally when he said he couldn't afford to get it. It's an online sale, I get people that want to lowball all the time, only difference is I don't really care. Go post it on Ebay, you'll sell it faster. Also matt, I have worked with some of the most expensive welders and when an inexperienced welder used them they generated crappy welds. Don’t let the work do all the talking about the product. Also his welds aren’t all that bad for a little welder like that.

M@
12-03-2006, 01:56 AM
I understand that, and the welder wasn't actually for me. I was asking for my brother, so as far as the quality goes, fine; I understand that. Both my brother and I have welding experience, but that's WAY beyond the issue.

HF sells this welder for $299 ($199 on sale every now and then) and it comes with no plug; no tungsten; no pedal no nothing. I added a plug tungsten and the pedal.
plus the welder has 4 years left on the replacement plan bullshit (still have the reciept).

And they're going for MORE than $200 on ebay. dont believe me then click:

I did a search and found about 20 of then sitting at about $20-$50 and the old B.I.N. was $200ish but no reserve so they WILL go lower than $200. It's not that I don't believe you I just have been watching welders on Ebay for about a year waiting on a good one for myself. I really don't want to buy local retail but it looks like I'll have to.

Also that link is bad, you have to log in, just do a basic search without logging in and post that link.

ComputerJLT

thats a completed items search; thats why you have to log in...

only one welder went for < $100 and its like $56 so obviously something wasn't right; the rest of them are $160-220 for the same thing in the box; no pedal no plugs or no tungsten

Slow96GSR

Oh no, might have to go hit Grainger and get a $7.00 plug. And Tungsten is like 2 bucks a rod, no biggie there. Keep all the "extra" stuff, the pedal, rods, and the plug and I'll take this for $115.

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=130+tig or http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=91811

http://www.airgas.com/browse/product.aspx?Msg=RecID&recIds=349986&WT.svl=349986

And I don't know what plug it uses for the pedal but I found those new for $25+ on Ebay and a lot with AirGas.
