Nice! Have you ran it at the track?

My best time so far was a 15.1@94 mph. This is a SOHC VTEC motor. I was pretty excited about that.:D

Didn't I race you at the IDRC at bandimere, and I beat you out in the brackets because you red-lighted? That was a good run!

I only ran my two time trial runs because I blew my head gasket.
My first run was a 16.5 and my second run was a 17.3. Very dissapointing. After that I went home. So it wasn't me you raced. We'll have to give 'em a run sometime!

Actually I think that may have been me who redlighted against you at bandi. I have a teal green civic turbo'd with body kit. You have the dark green civic right? I had a .498 reaction time on that run pissed me off (2 thousands of a sec, fuck!!) But yeah it was a good run between us.

ah yeah, it must have been you then. Wow, .498. So close. It would have been a pretty great race if we were both green, I think you might just have edged me out at the very end. But it was fun none the less :) I red-lighted in the 5th round of eliminations against a guy who was running a 16.4 I think.

I was running 16 PSI at the IDRC. Normally I only run about 10-11PSI.

NICE!!!
i've recently discovered that i REALLY like boost!!:p
although i need to tune some more.. i think i could push some low 14's or high 13's now.. i dont know just yet..
i'd love to feel 16 lbs in my car:Beer:

If I get my car tuned right I know I could break into the 14's. Right now it's not running too well, not too sure what the problem is.

I would love to feel 16lbs in your car too  the 4.5 lbs i felt was awesome, even with you stopping at 5k :D

now i stop at 7300. and feel the boost real good to 8-9psi.
my air fuel on the dyno was about right(11.5 to 1)
but i need some better camshafts i think.. my overlap on vtec is costing some boost and power.(loss of 14 hp right on the 5800 vtec jump)
but i have no real top end(above 7300). i think the cams and some gears would open that up some more..
i'm all outta $$$$ so no more upgrades till next year.

actually i think the truth of the matter is... a honda(or anything) can handle boost up to like 20 psi as long as you keep detonation out of the equation.. detonation will kill any engine, built or not..
i've heard of people boosting stock bottom ends up to 20-23 psi without any problems..
i've also seen a guy blow his engine on 6 psi because of detonation(lean out)

I don't have to worry about detonation with the J&S Safeguard. The thing kicks ass! But 20 PSI sounds high on an aluminum block built for N/A. If it were cast Iron, I'd probably throw it in there just to see what it could do. You also have to realize that the more air and fuel you feed to an engine, the bigger explosion. It's qiute possible to bend or even break a stock rod pretty easy with that much pressure forcing the piston down, and I'd think it only gets messier the higher up in revs you go.

And about the cams, get rid of the overlap. I think you want high lift, short duration cams. Check out Crower, I think they may have just what you are looking for.

it's hard to say how much boost the stock bottom end can handle.
i agree that it has some limitations,i personally wouldnt go past 15 lbs of boost without beefing up the rods and pistons..
mine for example has forged pistons, but only shotpeened stock rods. and i'm keeping boost under 15lbs..
as far as the cams go, i need to save up some cash before shopping. i'm tapped out right now.. but i'll look into the crowers.
i have their high rate springs on now.(10k rpm)
thanks dude;RoCkOn;
