Reset ECU and now I'm throwing a CEL..

The car is a 99 GSR and was purchased from a guy in Arizona. The car was running on VAFC but the screen was broken so you could not see any of the settings. I'm sure the car was set to AZ settings (elevation).

Anyhow, I unplugged the VAFC and reset the ECU (p73 ITR). When I started the car back up, a CEL popped up, does anyone have any idea why?

You cant just unplug it, it intercepts the map sensor. You would need to put the wire back to stock.

Sounds like you have a map cel. Gotta reconnect the map sensor wire.

I started driving it around with VAFC disconnected, and could tell something wasn't right, so I just plugged it back in.

EDIT - I drove it for about 5 miles, any chance I did damage to the motor?

I used an AFC in my last DSM and the Supra - the MAF wire is cut & run thru the AFC.
