I know i never really post on here anymore.. but i thought i'd just find out what other people's opinions are..
I'm not sure if any of you heard - but my Integra was stolen; and I'm looking to take the insurance money and start building the del slow to make it not so slow...
So basically my main question was what do you think I should get for a turbo.
I've been looking at the Turbonetics kit for awhile which is about 3500.. Just wanted some input on what you guys thought I should do.. just looking for suggestions
build my own for cheaper?? get a different kit; different brand.. garrett, revhard.. i dono. just curious of your opinions.

Sorry for your loss:/ Where did it get jacked from?
It would most likely be cheaper to build your own kit, or find a used kit....I got my Drag kit for $1500 when I bought it....
That sucks that your car got stolen. Was it recovered yet?
I say no matter what you do to your next car, you get some sort of tracking system on it.

^ makes a good point. I say build your own kit. At least this way you get exactly what you need to suit your own needs and purposes with the car.

I had definitely planned on getting some sort of tracking device..
this is the 3rd car i've had stolen.. people are out to get me i swear.. oh well shit happens..
uhmm.
The only problem i have is i'm not entirely sure where to find used parts; other than like ebay...
Keep an eye on message boards and post wanted ads, etc.
what engine would you be boosting? id build my own kit.. its the whole fun of it.

I'd be building a b18b1 -- but i don't think i'd actually build it. just something to make it a little quicker -- i'm not looking to make a 12 second car.
what kind of performance are you looking for then? off the line? top end?

I haven't looked into drag kits just cuz i've heard they're not too great. In particular the manifold -- i've heard they crack on a regular basis..
but that could just be hearsay - and false.
like i said, i'm not looking to make a crazy car.. just something kind of different -- don't see a whole lot of turbo Sols out there. So something relatively basic. push like 7-9psi, and hopefully get roughly 220hp out of it.
The turbonetics kit claims to get about 225 with it. So i'd be happy with something like that - but they're just so damn expensive.

I highly reccomend Peakboost / Phoenix Turbo. I thought about piecing mine together, but I was worried that it might not all work the way that I wanted it to, so I went with Peakboost. They are highly recommend on HT, and they give a lifetime warranty on their manifold against cracks. They are also the closest to having a true equal length manifold. On my B18c I put down 249 and 180 uncorrected on 8psi. That is also with loosing compresion in my #2 cylinder. The ring is gone.

also search around on HT for Peakboost. Archived and Recent Topics and you will find plenty. LMK if you have any questions or want to come check out mine.
