With regret I am selling my 88 Mazda 323 GTX. I work from home but have 4 cars, something has to go! This is 1 of 1,243 imported to the US only 5,000 world wide produced in 1986 to 1989(88 & 89 US) for Mazda to qualify for grop A rally.
The car runs flawlessly, interior and body are excellent for an 88 with a bunch of new parts added since July.
Here are the Specifics:
-140K Miles, used Japan Spec motor replaced at 80K miles, 1.6L DOHC Turbo, Hatch Back, 4WD 50/50 with center diff. lock, 5spd Manual, Sunroof, Power steering/Windows/locks, 130HP Stock, prob has 150HP now, very fast as the car weighs 2645 lbs fully loaded. Tons of recipts and log book.
Performance/Maintenance Added Since July:
HKS SuperMegaFlow Intake
HKS 13B RX7 MAF adapter
SRP Manual boost controller
2.5" Cat-back exhaust w/magnaflow muffler (very quiet)
Pedders performance Struts Long Stroke Rear/Short Stroke Front
Australian performance Break pads (can't remember brand)
Full tune up cap/rotor/bosch plugs/premium silicon wires
(to get this car to a safe 200 wheel HP all you need is the $200 Reich racing ECU upgrade, see Sport Compact Magazine's Project GTX, will feel and act like a 300HP car with the power to weight ratio)
All Fluids flushed & replaced with Synthetic (motor/trans/center dif/rear dif)
Brand New Yokohama Avid H4S' tires
orig. spoilers are intact and glossy
Timing Belt
Water Pump
Thermostat
CAM and Crank Seals
coolant flush
A/C retro fit and new fan
Battery
Distributor Springs have like new tensile strenth
no crank wobble (common to these cars)
All accessory Belts
Carrier bearing
Brake Master Cylinder
L/F Ball Joint
Both Drive Seals
All 4 Brak rotors machined
New brake line
4 wheel Alignment
New Ultra-Flat Black paint job
Orig. factory decals were re-produced in glossy black
All Badges painted glossy black (switched to a small rear badge)
Passed emissions very clean @ less than half of the limits
Does not burn oil or leak
What doesn't work/needs replaced: Hatch trunk lid struts, rear windshield sprayer pump works, but is not spraying the rear window, driver seat is in comfortable position, but, wont let you recline or sit up any straighter, gas & Temp guages are intermitent, has to be a loose wire as they work when you come to a stop, front driver/pass seat have scratches on the top from wear, stereo turns on, but, no sound, there is an amp under the driver seat that is effecting it, Gas door pop does not work but stays closed or open as I have the lock behind the spring tab.
Don't miss your oppty to own a very RARE, FUN, reliable, fuel efficient, fast and powerful car!
Call or email me if you have any questions and/or to set up a test drive (serious inquiries only).
