One of my friends was saying he was going to buy a 2005 accord vtec motor. 3.0.. He has a 97 Honda Civic he wants to try and put it into. What would he have to do to get that motor in his car. And how much do you think it's going to cost him after he gets the motor... Can it even be done?

Tell him good luck.

He better either have a ton of money or hundreds of hours to spare.

I'm sure it can be done, but there are dozens of better motors to put in a 97 Civic. Also, that particular motor, unless it came from a Coupe, has an auto. I see a lot of cutting and welding and rewiring.

Thats what I told him, I have never even heard of this being done, it's kind of strange... I was at his house and seen the motor. It did not look like it was even a full swap. And it looked BIG as hell, so who knows.. I don't see how it could be done, and I don't understand why he would not go with a motor that is much simpler and better for what he is trying to do.

Once you get a fast car that's the only 2 things left to do, lol.

Almost, you forgot buying her shoes, paying her bills, and buying a house. So that means working your ass off!!

I'm sure it's doable.. but not practical....Might as well drop in a chevy 350 and turbo it... probably the same amount of work involved....

No, get the Ram Jet 350 and all you have to do is build the mounts and pour in some gas and it's ready to go. It's the easiest motor to get running. And costs $3500 from the dealer. Thinking about putting one in my moms blazer so she can have just a "tad" more power!!
