M@ and I were talking about this on AIM. We were talking about the draft, etc. I offered up this question; If (I know its a big if) they did start the draft again or a type of it, would you rather wait to see if you got called and have to go fight with people being forced to go? Or would you rather sign up and go fight with people willing and wanting to go fight? I still havent decided what I would do. I know I'd much rather fight with people wanting to do it but it'd be hard to sign those papers when it came down to it.

I don't see it happening unless they become allies with Iran, and even then, Iran will be the primary focus. We've already taken over two of Iran's bordering countries, and we seem to have a raging hard-on for fucking with the middle east, so North Korea will continue to be mostly ignored.

N.Korea obviously has nuclear weapons, and the Bush administration will only bully countries that can't significantly fight back.

if there was a draft???? IFFFFF??? most who didnt want to would just end up in the brig. And those who did make it to the lines would be there to fight. Combat forces friendship and comraderie!

I think China won't allow it to happen since they don't need one of their allies causing problems with us now that China is in the middle of an economic growth and they actually have decent relations with us and allowing N. Korea to start something with us or our allies wouldn't help them at all.
China needs to do some bitch slapping and keep their "child" under control.
I'm afraid we will be going to war with them.. N. Korea is being very stubborn, and Geroge W. doesn't seem to like Pyongyang's attitude. I don't like the way things are going.

They should over throw Kim Jong Il and make me North Korea's leader. I would wipe that country into shape.
Last time i was in Seoul, our tour guide said that Korean women can take a beating and keep on ticking. So guys, you know if i teach North Korean women better english, she will only help you with "I ran into a door knob".;)

As far as troop number go, there would barely be any more presence of Americans than there already are in the region. South Korea and Japan would be the huge players. North Korea isnt Iraq, it's a tiny country accessible from all direction. They can have an air, sea, and ground assault to topple the whole leadership before they wake up the next morning.
At this point, it could be a viable option for China to allow troop movements into North Korea. The main problem China is worried about is an influx in refugees.
i dont think theres anyway there will be a draft, and no i dont think we will go to war, its going to have to escalate alot more.

Wow. I haven't read all the posts, but going to war would be a ridiculous proposition. I feel that north Korea is fucking with us cause they can. Why? Because we are already spread waayyy to thin. We have forces in iraq. and afganistan. Not to mention marginal forces all around the world in peacekeeping missions. We are having very bad luck with iran. So how are we going to respond to North Korea. Unless we enact a draft, which will kill what support left that we have with our current leadership, no way. And, with elections coming up this next couple of years, if the democrats gain the presidency and the seats, we will go conservative with our foriegn policies. We can't fight everyone. Sure, we would need to. But, with our bugdet blown away, and civilian support with the war; not gonna happen. IMO thats why Korea is doing what it is doing, it knows we are in a bad situation. Let some other country fight it. Or end up like Rome...over extended and badly corrupt.

Was anyone on here stationed in Korea when they served? Remember when you got there and when they were telling you about your life expediency if the N. Koreans got a wild hair up there ass and invaded S. Korea depending on what part of the country you were stationed? I was happy I got stationed in Pusan.... LOL... Just something to think about when and if anything was to ever happen there. I don't think War is going to happen, well I hope not, I still have friends stationed at Casey (DMZ)..

Lol, I was at Osan for a few years (dad is military). They always said that everything was just a buffer zone, if thwey attacked, we wouldn't last long against them. We had 10's of thousands of troops, N. Korea has, well, alot more.

If South Korea wasn't so important to us, N Korea would have been invaded already. We do anything, and Seoul will be in ashes. You know N Korea has tons of artillery pointed at Seoul.
We should just wait until this guy dies than hammer their government.

personally i dont want a war with korea especially not nuclear. i work on the nukes out here and trust me we dont want that. on the government's end though, if any of those missiles get anywhere near U.S. airspace you can count that as grounds for war, the government has made that very clear. korea is only acting like they have nuts cause they know we cant support a war on another front unless we pull troops out of afghanistan and iraq or stop our conflicts there entirely. kim jong il can go fuck himself for all i care, if he brings it he's coming full force with everything cause he knows as well as we do that if anything happens north korea will no longer exist anymore and will just be korea again like it should be. just my two cents
