This is a Holden Ute. Basically an El Camino style GTO, found in Australia.

And that's not all.. he didn't dyno at just 1,895 hp. Oh no.. that's just what the dyno MAXED OUT AT!!! He still had 1,500 RPM to go with the power curve not dropping in the slightest. (source: http://www.ameshow.com.au/hvf_perth/hvf_perth.htm)

You say something along the lines of, "wow, I really should have saved my money and gone with just 500 hp, since I'm just going to be spinning my tires either way."

With that amount of time, money, and fabrication invested into that thing, I think it's safe to say that there are plans for some nice fat slicks in it's very near future.

Wow. in the 60's and beyond, it was a big ass supercharger sticking out of the hood. Now its huge twin turbos. 2000 hp is a bit much for the street, but this is fucking cool.

Nice, amazing power! Is there any specs? I would like to see the ford gt tt go against this. I think it would an entertaining spectacle of tire debauchery!

:werd: I never could understand that. why have so much goddamn power that you won't be able to get traction anyways. Just wasting fuel.

You guy think that is a street car? get real.

That is one sick ass v8!

ryanman

I'd blow his doors off with 1150~ less hp. No way in hell he would hook up on the street with any kind of tire. Very nice car though.

You dumbasses. Just like Seth said, you think that's a street car? No way in hell.

I don't have anymore specs on it, unfortunately. Sorry.

Actually, it looks like a trailer queen/showcar/bragging rights kind of car.

Yep. You know if you had limitless funds, you'd be busy constructing something like that just to see if you could. Enjoying every minute of it too!

no way i'd rather get a car setup with the exact right tune for whatever i wanted to do with it rather than have bragging rights that mean nothing whatsoever.

The comment about the twin TTs, no dought. I have a 83 tbird 5.0 22lbs thru twin eldo 650's tunnel ram. I disassembled it, going natural asperated. It was wild, but to hard to tune thru carbs.2000 is nothing my 147 in my Si would kick his ass. I'd run him title for title, for thirty feet I'd win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sooo, you have a tunnel ram sitting on top of a s/c? Your air cleaners must be atleast a foot above your windshield. Edelbrock carbs are the easiest carbs to tune, period.

i see where he mentioned 22 psi, but i dont see where he mentioned a roots style S/C... maybe he has twin turbos with blow through carbs, or centrifugal chargers?

boostedEG

i havent even seen the pics yet as it doesnt show them anymore, but everyone is saying how there is absolutely no way he could get any traction on street tires.... how hard is it to slap on a set of slicks?

ever watch the drag radial wars? i can't remember the dudes name that won last year but it was an 86 camaro with a TT 427 small block chevy that put down 1680HP last i heard, and he was running on 10.5 inch wide drag radials, not even slicks, still ran mid-high 7's lifting the front tires off the line. its amazing what a good suspension can do for you.

Boosted eg is right. Ok let me go slow, engine sits in car, big tunnel ram sits were intake manifold would go. Two carbs sit on it then, turbonetics plenums bolt to the carbs. The turbos were boltd to 2 marine maniflods inverted,so intakes were to the fire wall and then plumbed under the car. I disassembled this beast, not my build. But it was interesting with out a doubt. Good all Boosted.http://www.highaltitudeimports.com/images/icons/icon14.gif

ryanman
10-15-2006, 03:53 PM
Ahh, ok, gotcha.

And BoostedEG, those 10.5 tired cars don't really run 10.5 slicks, they're 10.5W tires.

boostedEG
10-15-2006, 11:39 PM
whats 10.5w?

ryanman
10-15-2006, 11:58 PM
Let me correct myself, some cars do run a true 10.5 tire and run very fast times on them but most 10.5 cars run a 10.5W tire, they're actually around 13.5-14.5" wide.

geohonda
10-16-2006, 10:30 PM
Ya the 5.0 class run 10 inch cheeters or slicks and they run in the high 9.0s
so its achievable but suspension has to be right and transfer better be correct.
As to the hight of that tunnel ram and carbs and turboneics 16.5 inches off the motor.
