Just wanted to share the good news. I just got word that an AEM EMS for the EVO IX will be going into my car, already received. As some of you know, my car is near stock so it will be exciting to see how the car progresses through to next year....

I will try to keep everyone updated.

EMS is installed now, nothing major to report, showing 14-15 lbs of boost. Everything set really conservative until we get to a dyno. Working on cold starts, idle, etc. Seems that sometimes when you disengage the clutch over 2k, it will idle at 2k....if you run the rpm down just below 2k while in gear then disengage the clutch, it will back down to normal idle.

Cold starts takes a bit (expected). This will be worked on. Seems with the EMS, that the ECU keeps power. Even after you remove car keys, you can still work with the EMS unit with your laptop.

Will update Thursday or so after dyno time.

Ahhh ok, seems the fan cut off after it gets down to a certain temp, but that chattering noise went on for at least 10 minutes so didn't want to take the chance of coming out to a dead battery. Left it connected at work today so we will see if it starts up tonight.

Thanks for the info..... obviously I am no tuner haha but learning lil by lil.

Well with further investigation from don, the 9 box isnt acting like the rest of the AEM boxes and you are correct, it stays on, this is a problem for non daily drivers, AEM will be fixing it.

Well I am not sure how much draining of the battery, but after sitting for about 4 hours, I went out and it started fine. So at least I know tonight it should start to get me home ;)

Keep the inputs coming Austin, I am sure Don will take in any info from any credible sources as well.

EDIT - It's also an exciting time for me since I have been extremely bored with the car not being able to get to the road course, not getting any new parts, etc. And now, it's like the car is being "unlocked".
