Depends on the quality of the battery, but usually 5 years or less on average.
damn my mom has a base 03 RSX, they brought it to the dealer for somereason and the guy told them the battery is low and should be replaced, i just thought 3 years was a little soon for the battery to die
EDIT: its just the stock battery that came with the car
cuase ive had a civic with a "system" in and out for over 5 years and the battery is fine

I bought an Optima gel cell back in 2000, it's been in 8-9 different cars, left on the floor for long periods of time, now it's in my toyota p/u, still works great 6 years later. If you're gonna invest money into a new battery, might as well buy the best.

Thus the "quality of the battery" disclaimer.

:fu: they have had a lot of problems with them dying after only a week or two... i keep my on a battery tender so its always charged, but now it has a hole in it, from the heat of the turbo manifold... oops
