My battery light came on last thursday when I got off work. I went bowling, got back in my car and the light was still on after I started the car. (Car started fine.) Next morning I get in my car to go to work, and it is dead as it gets. So I figure the battery is dead. I went and bought a new battery, threw that in, car starts right up. On my way to work, I notice that the light is still on, just barely lit. Then as I proceed to accelerate to 55 it comes on full force. Is my problem deeper than I am anticipating? Any help is appreciated!

Check your alternator, that's usually why your battery light comes on.

Whack it with a hammer. The light may go out giving you charging powers again for a couple of days. But most likely you need an alternator. Let me know if you need a good price on a reman one.

Damn, another alternator? I put the one that's in there 3 years ago.

Lol, if you hit the dash hard enough with a hammer I garuntee the light will go out eventually. :)

The battery is newer than the alternator. About 2.5 years old.

Tobi, can you pm me a price with and without installation? Is the alternator on this car a total bitch?
