View Full Version : Anyone ever dealt with a bonded title?

Ok so i bought my crx a couple months ago for $350. I never got the title for the car. Now the guy i bought it from isnt answering his phone. Is there even anything i can do? Bonded? Rebuilt from salvage? Theres no way for me to get plates or insurance obviously because of no title. Any help is apperciated.

Go to his house and threaten to break his nose if he doesn't give you the title....?

lol well i guess that would be one way but i really dont know where he lives and like i said, he doesnt answer his phone (if its even the right number) so i need to look for other options....

Try calling him from a different number...

i dunno. because it was promised to me by 2 weeks after i got the car and i needed a car really bad so i jumped on it. now its been over 3 months since i got it and still nothing

i still have it.... its called wanting better gas mileage. 40MPG > 12MPG

yea and even though gas prices have dropped tremendously in the past couple months, id still just like to know the car in my garage has a title if i ever wanted to take it out.

that sucks... you should have gotten the title when he handed over the keys... now its his work against your... hell he could have reported it stolen...
do you have a bill of sale at least?

well the car didnt even run when i bought it. it seriously had all the tires and a steering wheel lol. yea i have a bill of sale but i was just curious on the whole bonded title thing if anyone has ever done it...

pain in the ass! time and a good $400+ at least has been my experience, go to the dmv 1881 pierce and do a vin search on the car to check for leans etc- then tell your story and ask them for "the packet" on getting a title... bring an ID and pay the 2.20$ for the info and decide how hard this guy really is to find....ps they will grant you a 45 day tag once to try to do the title stuff given you can prove insurnce ond some kind of ownership (ie bill of sale) good luck!

yea i went in and already tried to ask the status of the title and they wouldnt give me the info because i wasnt the owner of the car. and i dont have insurance yet because i wanted to see if i could even get the title first. I dunno what to do. i think i already have another crx shell with a clean title im gonna buy and just swap everything over. hate to do it but this is just gonna be more than its worth
