so who all keeps their coilovers on through the winter.
I did this last winter (first one with the coilovers) and I noticed it gets REALLY bouncy/harsher when it gets colder out.
I alos blew two shocks and am not sure if it was because of the cold or not.
IF it's because of the cold, what can I do to prevent it from happening again? Adjust the dampening? take them off?
thanks.
They are D2 RS coilovers btw.

It shouldnt affect the ride with colder temps. The shocks should heat themselves after a few miles. The mag-chlor on the roads tends to lock up the spring perches though. That would be the only reason I would take them off, of jsut not drive the car on shitty days.

One of my coilover perche is stuck. :(
Were you on stock shocks?

no, had D2 Rs coilovers, which are spring/damper/upper and lower perches.
the ride seems bouncier on really cold days already. I haven't had a chance to drive it really far yet though in the cold.
that's kinda why I want a corner balance because too much weigh on one side might have been the problem wiith why they blew last winter.

Seems like shitty coilovers if the shocks blew just from the temperature change.

well I don't know exactly why they blew, but I think it's because of that because the book that came with them said their operating temp range went to -5 degrees C, and I drove around when it was nearly -5 degrees F one time which is like -15 C.
I had to get home somehow.
they haven't had problems since though.

The bouncy ride in the winter probably has to do with the road contracting, not the suspension. There's a road right by my house that is perfectly smooth during the summer, but every winter (for the past 7 years) there are some bumps that I can get air on if I drive fast enough. A stiffer suspension just amplifies small changes in the road from the weather.

^^ that makes sense. I might just notice it more too since I'm cold, and stiff. lol
