View Full Version : Any fresh seafood places in the Springs?

Do we have any markets here that carry fresh seafood? Trying to find some quality king crab legs, or even snow crab.

If not anyone order from a place online?

I have no Idea, never looked. We just go to Red Lobster. I'm to lazy to cook seafood, or anything else!

Whole Paycheck, er Foods has pretty good seafood. Its pretty hard to find it really fresh this far from the sea.

You will not find any fresh crab anywhere at all right now. King crab season doesn't start for a couple weeks and snow crab doesn't start for a couple months so if you do happen to find any crab anywhere just remember if it's King Crab it's atleast a year old and if it's snow crab it's atleast 9 months old. If you want fresh stuff I can get a good deal on it, hell of alot better deal then you'll get anywhere down there.

I will have to check it out. I know it almost impossible to find anything good hear but at least want to get it from a decent spot other than the grocery stores...

Thats crazy, so even if I where to order from a online store from the coast it will most likley be frozen... drag!

I'm in Kodiak, Alaska, home of all the crab boats like what you see on Deadlies Catch and stuff. I can get it right of the boats, can't get any fresher then that. I'll charge you what they charge me, I don't need to make any money off of it, my pleasure to help you guys out on here.

I worked at whole foods in boulder for 3 years and they had by far the freshest fish in Colorado. I don't think i have Even seen fresh alaskin king crab ever. I saw fresh shirmp one time, and the only other fresh crab they carried was soft shell or the lump dugenous (sp). Crab and shrimp are pretty much always flash frozen. So if you are looking for fresh crab at any time. Good luck.

Find a local asian seafood market? The ones up in denver have live dungenous crabs for 5bucks a pound. Not cheap, but hell, they are alive.

And btw, all crab gets cooked and then frozen immediately after it gets unloaded off the boat.
